3. Sr. Parishioner Day – May 25th How very blessed we are at St. Simon’s! We have
a beautiful campus, inspiring worship spaces, an
engaging array of programs and ministries and an
established, caring presence within our community.
All of these things are reasons for us to love this
church, reasons to make us proud.
But just as these are reasons to make us feel
contentment and pride, they are also reasons that
should make us feel thankful . . . thankful to God
and thankful to the many generations of St.
Simonites who worked to build this church and,
throughout the years, have worked to sustain it.
On Wednesday, May 25, we will have the privilege
of coming together with our bishop to both thank
God and thank some of the people who have worked
to make St. Simon’s what it is today. The event will
begin with a special Eucharist at 11 a.m. and be
followed by a lunch served with love to our oldest
members. We will honor these oldest members for
their faithfulness, service, leadership, and prayers
throughout the past and thank them for the gift of
their continuing presence and involvement within
our congregation today. If you are a parishioner who
was born in or before 1936, we’d like the privilege of
honoring you on this special day. If your invitation
has not arrived, please let us know right away.
Parishioners born any time after 1936, we invite
you to be a part of this day of honor by helping us
with matters such as transportation, serving lunch or
just being here to lend a hand and be one more
voice conveying these three heartfelt words to our
oldest parishioners: We Thank You. Please contact
Mary Hauge for more information or to let us know
how you’d like to be involved
