IAYP Gold Award

21 Gold Level participants of O. P. Jindal School, Raigarh, successfully completed their

Award Journey and were selected for the International Award for Young People Gold

Award (IAYP), 2019. Two student representatives from our school Dhruv Debnath and

Shivam Pandey received the Award Certificates & Badges at the Annual Gold Award

Ceremony, 2019 at the India International Centre, New Delhi on 9th July, 2019 from

The Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony of O.P. Jindal School, Raigarh was held on 17th July, 2019 in

the school auditorium. Around 126 student leaders were given away the badges of

responsibility. Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, SP, Raigarh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest

and inspired the students to be disciplined in life to achieve success. Mr. R.K. Trivedi,

the Principal called upon the student leaders to be responsible and work with

dedication and honesty. He congratulated the newly formed Prefectorial Body and

wished them all the best. The annual school magazine "Jindal Jyoti-2019" was also

unveiled on this occasion.

The Investiture Ceremony of classes VIII and X was held on 18th July, 2019 in the school

auditorium. 40 Prefects were invested with the responsibility by the Principal, Mr. R.K.

Trivedi. He congratulated the newly selected student leaders and wished them all the

best. He shared three success mantras i.e passion, focus and hard work to achieve the

desired goals in life. He motivated them to be disciplined in life.

Financial Literacy Programme

OPJS-Raigarh spearheaded the ‘Financial Literacy’ programme in the last academic

session. The teachers of Commerce Department of our school conducted Financial

Literacy classes in the nearby schools for many days. These schools were certified as

Money Smart Schools and the students were awarded with Participation & Merit

Certificates in a function held in our School Auditorium. The programme was

coordinated by Mrs. Priya Saxena, Sr. PGT of our school. Mr. R.K. Trivedi, our Principal

gave away the prizes to the schools. It’s an initiative by RBI and NISM.

The Inter House English Elocution Competition

The Inter House English Elocution Competition" was held for the students of Classes IV

and V on 27th July, 2019 in our school auditorium. This is an attempt to promote the

English speaking skills in terms of pronunciation, speech delivery, and voice

modulation, and to develop the communication skills of the students. After the initial

selection round, 18 students were finally chosen for the competition. The young orators

won the hearts of the judges and audience who were overwhelmed by their oratory

skills and preparation. Mrs. Leena Chacko, the Head Mistress encouraged the children

with her words of appreciation. Mrs. Rashmi Shrivastava, the In-Charge of Junior

Literary Club coordinated the event.

Felicitation Ceremony for School Bus Drivers

OPJS-Raigarh organised a “Felicitation Ceremony” for the school bus drivers for their

dedicated service. The entire event was coordinated by the students and Prefects of our

school. K. Srinidhi, the Head Girl gave the welcome speech followed by a melodious

welcome song. A PPT presented by Deepak and Kshitiz beautifully depicted the role

played by the school bus drivers in the lives of the students. The programme was

anchored by Mansi and Khushi . Riya Beriwal recited a poem in Hindi expressing her

gratitude. Mr. Sanjay Debnath, the Administrator urged the students to be

compassionate. At the end, Geet, a student of KG extended the vote of thanks. Mr. R.K.

Trivedi, the Principal appreciated this noble initiative by the students. It was a

memorable occasion for all.

Founder’s Day at OPJS

O.P. Jindal School, Raigarh paid rich tributes to our founder father Syt. O.P. Jindal, our

revered Babuji on the occasion of the Founder's day celebration in our school. Various inter school art, cultural and literary competitions were organised on 6th August in our

school auditorium to commemorate the day. The students, teachers and staff members

gathered to offer floral tributes to Babuji. Our Principal, Mr. R.K. Trivedi addressed the

special assembly and highlighted Babuji's contribution to the society.

Independence Day Celebration

The Independence Day-2019 was celebrated with a great patriotic fervour in our

campus. The tricolour was hoisted by our Principal, Mr. R.K. Trivedi in our school. He

urged the students and staff members to uphold the dignity of our national flag. Some

of our students were also awarded for their academic distinction on this occasion. Our

students and staff members also took part in the Independence Day Celebration held at

nation through their soul-stirring cultural presentations.

India Heritage Quiz-2019

In order to widen the scope of heritage education among students, the inter house

“India Heritage Quiz-2019” was held at OPJS recently. Around 72 selected students

from six Houses enthusiastically participated in it. The quiz was organised in two

phases- VI to VIII and IX and X. There were many interesting rounds which tested the

knowledge of the students about the rich cultural heritage of the country. The event

was coordinated by Ms. K. Saraswati, the Heritage Club In-charge of our school. At the

end, Mr. R.K. Trivedi, the Principal called upon the students to respect the heritage of

the country.

Inter House English Extempore Competition

Extempore is the art of public speaking that is carried out without preparation or

forethought. It puts to test one’s ability to think on the spot and also their spontaneity.

To enhance the communication skills among our students, the Inter House English

Extempore Competition (classes XI and XII) was held in our auditorium with a lot of

enthusiasm . 12 selected speakers from six Houses voiced their creative ideas with precision. Students expressed their views on different topics from the field of current

affairs, sports, education, politics, science etc. The event was coordinated by Mrs. D.L.

Rao, the In-charge of Literary Club. Addressing the students at the end, Mr. R.K. Trivedi,

the Principal motivated them to be good readers and imbibe the skills of public

speaking.

Teachers’ Day at OPJS

O.P. Jindal School, Raigarh solemnly celebrated Teachers’ day with great gusto and

gaiety on 5th September. Special assemblies were organised to mark the day. Students

performed a scintillating cultural show to express their love, respect, acknowledgement

and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards their growth and

development. The cultural show incorporated speeches, poems, songs and dance.

Addressing the students, Mr. R.K. Trivedi, the Principal talked about the importance of

Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat" National Integration Camp

NCC 28 CG Battalion Raigarh organised a two-day "Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat"

National Integration Camp recently. O.P. Jindal School Raigarh in association with JSPL

got an opportunity to host the camp on 9th September, 2019. Around 600 NCC cadets

and NCC officers from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir took part in

it. Major General Sanjay C. Meston, Brig. D.B. Pany, Col. H.S. Guman, Lt. Col. S. Dar and

Mr. R.K. Trivedi, the Principal were present on this occasion. In his motivational speech

to the young cadets, Shri R.K. Trivedi inspired the cadets to have a goal and relentlessly

pursue it. He also talked about time management, dealing with failures and success as a
