IT’s a wrap:

Taupo Open Water Champs and Epic swimmers: Kane Radford claimed his 5th consecutive 10km and 5km Open Water Champs. The lake was cold 17.5degrees, with a change to the course but he stormed home in both events. William Spear claimed Bronze in 16-17yr age group, 10km and came 7th overall in 5km Open Champs. David Boles swam hard and well in the 10km. Emily Spear, Bronze in the 5km Epic & Milla Theobald Silver in Epic 1km and 7th place in the 2.5km. A message from Claire: Swim Rotorua may ask your child this term

which school they go to, this is because we try to ensure schools are aware of our swimmers before interschool swimming competitions. If a school has not entered an interschool swimming team in the past or if you know that a school needs advice please contact me on [email protected]

· Swim Rotorua will organise some school skills clinics/race nights for swimmers to practise starts and turns – dates to be confirmed.

· CBOP Interschool Swimming Competition years 4-8 Tuesday March 22nd Rotorua Aquatic Centre. The school enters a team by 7 March.

Swim Rotorua organises this competition for Sport BOP. We will need parents to help timekeep, officiate and marshal, and schools will need helpers to team manage. Please let me know if you can assist.

· BOP Interschool Swimming Competition – the CBOP team is selected after the CBOP event. This competition is on Tuesday 5 April in Whakatane.

Claire Baylis, Swim Rotorua School Liaison Manager
