The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto is sponsoring an evening of music and rhythm to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Canada.
The concert will feature the Minstrels of Hope and the Scarborough Ontario Seniors Association {SOSA)
The Minstrels of Hope lnc. is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental
organization and has been working for the benefit of the underprivileged children of Manila for the past 12 years.
SOSA was founded in 2008 with the mission of developing and implementing programs that promote and maintain the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of senior citizens.
The concert is free and promises to be an enjoyable and entertaining evening, promoting Philippine arts and culture.
Since 1922, the Pontifical Missions Societies through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith has supported the temporal needs of missions as well as creating awareness of the work of the missions throughout the world. Some examples of projects include: building churches, pastoral centers, cathedrals damaged by tsunamis and earthquakes, religious houses of formation, homes for the clergy, catechism and formation programs for lay missionaries, radio and television production, audio visual materials for remote mission areas as well as support of pastoral work in various rural dioceses.
The Society for the Propagation of the Faith grew to become the universal fundraising organization for all Catholic missions.

The activity will be not be highly noticeable and will not cause any disturbance that will affect the dignity of the mass.
Parents of children who are not enrolled at the Our Lady of Assumption School may register their child with the Parish Office. For requirements, please contact the parish office at 416-787-4547. Registration continues until October 31, 2019.
