As a sport representing Hitachi Solutions, the entire company is behind our team, “AURORA”, and we have established an environment in which talented
skiers with disabilities can devote themselves to the sport.
In November 2004, Hitachi Solutions established the ski team for athletes with disabilities. The athletes and coaches are active on the global stage in the

In 2014 we also established a new wheelchair ski division in order to expand our activities as a sports team
catering to all the athletes with disabilities.
The team was named “AURORA”, meaning “daybreak” in Italian; it carries with it our hope for the future
development of sports for the athletes with disabilities. The team mascot is “AURORA”, a Sachalin red fox.ORA , a Sachalin red fox.

Hitachi Solutions holds support event to endorse the “Science & Technology Challenge” promoted by the Cabinet Office of JapanEndorsing the “Science & Technology Challenge”, a program run by the
Cabinet Office of Japan to help support the career options of female
junior/senior high school and university students interested in the field of
science and technology, Hitachi Solutions held a summer support event
“Jobs creating the future ☆ Experience the excitement of IT”. The event
took on a workshop format where young female employees gave
participants the chance to experience what it is like to work as an SE,
introducing themes that were close to home and easy to understand. The
workshop was designed to increase the participant’s knowledge of the IT
industry and help expand career awareness among junior and senior high
school students through an exchange of opinions on the theme of “job
satisfaction”.
Rigorous implementation of complianceThe corporate standards of conduct of Hitachi Solutions sets forth that we
must firmly understand that the company is a member of society and that
we must aim to secure fair and transparent corporate activities.
At Hitachi Solutions, we have set October of each year as the Corporate
Ethics Month, and we are striving to implement corporate ethics and
compliance even more rigorously, such as by holding an e-learning
training for the entire Hitachi Group.
Environmental activitiesIn line with the three pillars of Hitachi Group’s environmental vision
consisting of “Prevention of Global Warming”, “Conservation of
Resources” and “Preservation of Ecosystems”, Hitachi Solutions has
established an environmental management system to promote our
environmental activities. Through the provision of products and solutions
that take the environment into consideration, we are carrying out efforts
towards reducing our environmental impact on society.
Participating in the community and developing the communityA brass band comprised of employees carries out music activitiesHitachi Solutions holds a regular recital for the purpose of providing a
place for music appreciation and cultural exchange. Also, by holding joint
performances with middle schools in Shinagawa ward, we are also
providing a place for people in the community to enjoy music.
Information security and protection of personal informationAll employees are striving to prevent information leakage based on the
understanding that the company’s technical information as well as
information related to transactions with customers is strictly confidential.
Also, in terms of internal system, we have implemented the following
measures company-wide: embedding PC encryption functions and
medium control functions, executing central management of virus
countermeasures, applying thin clients, and taking measures against
cyber attacks. We are striving to implement these measures rigorously as
part of our information security policy and rules.
In terms of the protection of person information, Hitachi Solutions was a
forerunner in the industry to acquire the “privacy mark” in 1998.
We will make continuous efforts to protect and appropriately handle the
personal information of all employees and stakeholders by setting forth a
“Hitachi Solutions Personal Information Protection Policy” and operating a
“Personal Information Protection Management System”.
Hitachi Solutions was selected in the “Diversity Management Selection
100” awarded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Japan) to
companies that have increased value through diversity management. This
award recognizes our multi-faceted promotion of diversity management
based on our initiatives and results towards realizing diversity, such as the
self-motivated activities of working groups and active engagement in
communication towards advancing the roles played by foreign nationals
and workers with disabilities.
Hitachi Solutions has also been awarded Honorable Mention in the
“Ikumen Company Award 2014” run by the Ministry of Health, Labour and
Welfare(Japan). We were recognized for deepening understanding
towards the participation of men in child-rearing, in ways such as holding
the “Ikuboss Summer Forum” and publishing the “Positive Vacations 100”
on our intranet, in addition to making company-wide efforts to review
work habits through activities of the diversity promotion working groups
established in each business division.
