Introduction and Welcometo our CSJ Candidates

Our province has been blessed with two women who are interested in learning about our Community. You will probably see them around CC and social events so be sure to say “hi” and make them feel welcomed.

Chizuru Yamada comes to us from Japan. She first encountered our community during her baptismal preparation (1996) and it was during a 35-day Jesuit retreat that she felt the call to become a Sister of St. Joseph. Chizuru has a facility for languages-- Italian and Korean-- in addition to sign language. She is also skilled in computer technology.

Sally Koch grew up with her three siblings on the family farm in Nebraska. From a young age, she joined her mother in lending her musical abilities as a member of the parish choir and guitar/organ instrumentalist. She holds an MA from Santa Clara University in Pastoral Ministry with an emphasis in spirituality. We rejoice that Chizuru and Sally have chosen to discern their call by God to religious life with us. v
