History of scouting in hungary

Recent years

1988 Sunrise of the transition to a democratic system. Meeting of the former scouts.1989 Rebirth of the HSA, as the first registered civil organization, this time open for boys and girls. The Hungarian organization joins WOSM. Leader training starts. Girl guiding is also reestablished separately. Beginning of the 90ies Following the political changes in the neighbour countries Hungarian minority scout groups and associations are formed.

2001 Carpathia 2001, organization of the 6th Central European Scout Jamboree in Csobánka, Hungary. Motto: Closer to each other, Storyline: middle age world in Central Europe.2007 The first national scout day in Hungary.2010 Condordia 2010, the 10th Central European Scout Jamboree near Budapest. Motto: Many hearts, one beat.2012 National Jamboree celebrating 100 years of Hungarian Scouting.

1991 Forum of the Hungarian Scout Association is formed, which is the consultative forum of the Hungarian scout associations from different countries. The HSA is again participant of the World Scout Jamborees.1993 The first national jamboree of Hungarian Scouting remembering the WJ in Gödöllő.1995 Organization of the first national scout ball.
