An Attitude of Gratitude Thanks giving is a wonderful gesture to be grateful to

those charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Indeed, the Chairman of the school along with Madam Chairman, the director and the Principal extended the heartfelt gratitude to the staff members for their glorious support in Community Services. The chairman also urged and motivated the team to live by the deeds. There’s always something to be thankful for!

Show & Tell

Many of us have fond childhood memories of bringing beloved items to school and showing our classmates. Show and Tell was a favourite time for DWPS tiny tots for they shared some of their favorite toys, charts and expressions with their teachers and friends on 10th December 2019. It was also a platform to develop important communication and social skills among them. It helped to reinforce the speaking activity. What else could be a wonderful medium to bring clarity in the topic ‘Means of Transport’?

SPECTACULAR SUCCESS!

It is a very special and proud moment for Delhi World Public School, Noida Extension to share the news that DWPS has featured as one of the top ranking schools and the ONLY school from Noida Extension to be adjudged as 'Challengers' according to Times School Survey, published in today's edition of TOI for the Noida Region. The school has attained this coveted position competing with many of the schools of Noida. Our heartfelt thanks reach out to all the members of the teaching faculty for their unstinted effort towards the ascent of the school. Without the cooperation of such supportive parents and teachers , the school would not have been able to escalate to such heights. We seek the choicest blessings of the Almighty to gradually feature in the 'Leader' category of schools by the forthcoming session.

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE

The students of Primary Wing of Delhi World Public School, Noida extension donned their ‘Chef Caps’ to exhibit their culinary skills in ‘Cooking Without Fire’ Activity conducted on 13th December 2019. The students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm as they learnt to prepare the healthy and nutritious snacks. The activity not only provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity and decision making skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest.

School organized pottery clay activity on 06-12-2019, Friday in school premises for the development of eyes and hands coordination to guide them to open up the wings of their imaginations. It was a fun following activity enjoyed by every student. The idea, explained by their teacher, is that children learn better when they’re active: “They really enjoy it and engage. If you say they’ve got to memorise a poem, that sounds dry. This gets them to use other techniques to help them, aside from rote learning.” The pottery class enables each student of the group to go home with their own unique artwork – as well as unforgettable memories.

Organic Farming To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. It is indeed an ideal way to impart knowledge at this young age so that the future understand the journey of food from farmers to the plate. It is a wise way to go back to our tradition and develop more love for nature.

Ms. Urmil Gupta, represented the school and it was a great and enriching experience for her to witness the annular solar eclipse on 26th Dec 2019, a rare astronomical event which occurs when the moon passes between earth and sun in a manner obscuring the sun’s disk except the outer ring. She shared her unforgettable experience of how the moon slowly masked the Sun to leave just” a ring of fire” in the last solar eclipse of the decade, an astronomical phenomenon seen by thousands across south India. The partial phase of the eclipse began at 8 a.m. And the annular phase was from 9.06 a.m. till 9.31a.m. She thanked the Esteemed Management and the Principal, Ms Jyoti Arora for providing her the golden opportunity for the spectacular scientific exposure.

Blessed is the season, which engaged the whole DWPS in a conspiracy of love. Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients that added magic to the meaning of true Christmas. The spirit of Christmas wrapped up with ‘Secret Santa’ ensured love, hope and peace in the heart of everyone in DWPS. With the children of Nursery A performing a special assembly the day was filled with merry time immersed in songs and feast all throughout the day.

SPARKS OF IMAGINATION

CREATIVE CORNER Let me start off by asking a simple question; can you truly call a country a democracy if all its citizens are not truly free? Well if you ask me the answer will be no, but now you may be wondering what does this have to do with the title of the article. Let me tell you. Even though India is a democratic nation it’s not truly free because the women in India are not truly free. They are still bound by the rules of the patriarchal society where the man always comes first. And even though the past few years have seen quite tremendous amounts of change, it’s still not enough. As someone has truly stated a woman is the full circle, if she can create and nurture then she can also destroy if she needs to. But then why still is the same woman considered a setback, a liability. An example of this is our earth that provides us with a place to live, nurtures us and lets us grow. What is this earth called? It’s called MOTHER EARTH, not father earth. Then why I ask why is the female that earth is compared to, considered weak and feeble? If this wasn’t enough let’s not talk of the earth, lets come back to India our own country our homeland which we love so dearly what is it called? We call it mother India not father India .Then why in the country given a feminine status are the females mistreated? Why I ask? I know that this topic a cliché one to write about but in the end I wasn’t here to portray myself as a feminist or to tell you that this is a problem because I know that each and every one of us is well aware that it is a major one but instead I was here to take off the blindfold that makes us view the world as a pretty perfect picture and maybe spark a need for a change.
