From the Principal’s Desk… Dear Eisenhower Parents, A very special thank you goes out to everyone who helped and participated in our annual Ike Fright Night. It was a fabulous success starting with the games, the Haunted Hallway (coordinated by the Student Council, National Honor Society and the teachers), the deliciously creepy café, and ending with the fun dance for the older grades. Thanks to all the parents who contributed candy, donations, and time. This could not have happened without a lot of help and the coordination and leadership of our special chairperson, Kim Dockins, and her committee heads: Anna Kenbok, Jori Dusseau, Hannah Coetzee, and Robyn Williams…and over 80 volunteers! Thank you everyone – a fun time was had by all. Snow White thoroughly enjoyed herself, and along with Dusty and 500+ kids had a blast! Thank you so much for continuing this priceless Ike tradition! The Eisenhower teachers of 40 years ago designed this tradition in lieu of classroom Halloween parties. I know they would be proud of the fabulous tradition it has become and continues to be! We are excited to be able to bring back formal Parent/Teacher Conferences this year, due to our high performing status as a school corporation. If you have not arranged for an appointment with your child’s teacher as of yet, please be sure to do so via email A.S.A.P. Conferences are being scheduled through the first two weeks of November. If you are not receiving emails from your teacher or me, please be sure to update your information. We are discovering that many email addresses have changed since parents entered them at registration time. A friendly reminder to please keep the office updated with your current email address. We wrapped up our Red Ribbon Week today. Ms. Johnson did an exemplary job coordinating a wonderful and educational experience for the students. Lots of prizes were given out, but the BIG one was a new bike, donated by our PTO. The lucky winner was chosen this morning, and as you can clearly see in the photo, Luke, Elise, and Delaney are totally delighted! From the Principal’s Desk… Dear Eisenhower Parents, A very special thank you goes out to everyone

who helped and participated in our annual Ike

Fright Night. It was a fabulous success starting with the

games, the Haunted Hallway (coordinated by the Student

Council, National Honor Society and the teachers), the

deliciously creepy café, and ending with the fun dance for

the older grades. Thanks to all the parents who contributed

candy, donations, and time. This could not have happened

without a lot of help and the coordination and leadership of

our special chairperson, Kim Dockins, and her committee

heads: Anna Kenbok, Jori Dusseau, Hannah Coetzee, and

Robyn Williams…and over 80 volunteers! Thank you

everyone – a fun time was had by all. Snow White

thoroughly enjoyed herself, and along with Dusty and 500+

kids had a blast! Thank you so much for continuing this

priceless Ike tradition! The Eisenhower teachers of 40

years ago designed this tradition in lieu of classroom

Halloween parties. I know they would be proud of the

fabulous tradition it has become and continues to be!

We are excited to be able to bring back formal

Parent/Teacher Conferences this year, due to our high

performing status as a school corporation. If you have not

arranged for an appointment with your child’s teacher as of

yet, please be sure to do so via email A.S.A.P. Conferences

VETERAN’S DAY PROGRAM Attention Ike Families: The fifth graders are working together on a Veteran’s Day Program which will take place on Friday, November 7th.

Parents, Grandparents and Veterans are invited to attend the program at 10:00 am in the Ike Gym. If you have a picture of a Veteran that you would like to submit for our slideshow, please email it to: [email protected] or [email protected]. Also, please include the name and rank of the veteran, where and when they served, and how they know the student/s from Eisenhower. The deadline for turning in pictures for the slideshow is Thursday, October 30th! MARKET DAY FUNDRAISER ORDERS! Next Wednesday, November 5th, all paper orders for Market Day are due in the office. However, online and telephone orders can be accepted up until 10:59 p.m. on Saturday, November 8th. We are requesting all Bonus Days Pie Sale flyers be returned to the office on Wednesday, November 5th, as well, leaving both Thursday and Friday for stragglers. ALL pie order forms must include full payment! Order pick up day will be Wednesday, November 12th from 4:30 to 5:30pm in the Ike Cafeteria! (Be thinking about the upcoming holidays!) Our goal is 500 pies-We can do this!!! The winning class will be treated to a Pizza Party. Everyone who sells at least 1 pie will earn a prize! Sell 1 pie and get a Pop-Up Monster. Sell 3 pies and get a Smelly Pencil and Pop-Up Monster and then you get another Smelly Pencil for every three additional pies sold. The top 3 sellers will earn additional prizes. STUDENT COUNCIL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE Student Council will be having a Food Drive from Tuesday,

November 4th through Monday, November 24th, 2014. Please bring non-perishables such as rice, canned and boxed foods. There will be a table set up in the cafeteria where you can place your donations. In order to have a variety of food, we are

offering these suggestions: • ECD: Paper & Cleaning Items - Toilet paper, paper

towels, soap, laundry and cleaning supplies and toothpaste.

• Kindergarten: Breakfast - hot or cold cereal, pancake mix, syrup, Pop Tarts.

• 1st Grade: Lunch – peanut butter, jelly, tuna, Spaghettios, Velveeta cheese, lunch box stuffers.

• 2nd Grade: Dinner – pasta, rice, instant potatoes, canned vegetables, boxed dinners.

• 3rd Grade: Snacks – crackers, chips, popcorn, cookies, fruit snacks.

• 4th Grade: Desserts – baking items, sugar, flour, cake and cookie mixes, Jello and puddings and miscellaneous items.

• 5th Grade: Beverages and Dinner – canned or bottled juices, hot cocoa – use 2nd Grade dinner list.

Please do not send items that require refrigeration or items that are expired. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Dusseau at 663-8800. Thank you! LOST AND FOUND Parents-please check to make sure your children have all their sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts, etc., when they come home from school. Once again, we have accumulated a huge pile of clothes in our “Lost and Found” box. We have set up a few tables in front of the library so please have your children check to see if any of these items belong to them. Any items that are still here and not claimed by Winter Break will be donated to local charities.
