1

1、Client Software Installation

1.1 Software Configuration Requirements：

1. Make sure that hard disk has over 500M available space for a recommended installation(eg, when you install the software in Disk C, check the space available first if it is more than 500M);

2. Monitor resolution 1024*768 or higher; 3. Color quality setting 32-bit; 4. Operating System: Windows 98 or later; 5. Memory: 256MB of RAM; 6. Processor: Celeron 1.6G or higher, Celeron2.5G recommended.

1.2 Installation Procedure

Step 1：Place the affiliated disk into CD-ROM； Step 2：Click the “Setup” icon, and it shows:

Waiting for initializing installation without any interference Step 3: After initialization, a dialog box for register pops out，then you start with inputting the serial number

Users enter name, company and serial number successively (every term should be filled out); users can input a random name and company, the serial number is 1111-1111-1111; click OK, another dialog box shows as followed：

Click “Yes” to confirm the information”； Step 4：After register successfully：

Please read the instruction, and click “Next” button to continue with the Setup program Step 5：A dialog box for destination location shows on screen:

Click “Browse”, user can choose a different folder to install;

Please check the available space beforehand, which should exceeds 500M and verify the install directory and click “OK”; Step 6：Select and confirm the install directory, afterwards a dialog box reads：

Installation Wizard requires for further instruction, click “Next” button to start installation； Step 7：After Step 6, the installation is in process：

Please wait until installation finishes； Step 8：After successful installation, it appears：

Click the “Finish” button to exit the installation, and a shortcut icon - “PC Decoder” will be placed on the desktop. Tip: During the installation, Windows may recommend to halt the setup program due to secure factors, ignore it and continue the installation.

2、Operate Software

2.1 PC decoder

2.1.1 Log in PC decoder

Click the “PC Decoder” icon on desktop to enter the login table:

Entry the initial username and password Tip: Equipment at the factory is only one : to remind people admin users, the default password for admin. The first recorded use of this code. 2.1.2 Camera Settings

2.1.2.1Picture View Setting

Tactics 1： Click “Ctrl” and select relevant camera and click before it; in the pull-down menu of each camera, there will be selections, eg: Chief Camera and Secondary Camera, which feature as “duo video function”; users can allocate the cameras in accordance with needs so as to preview or record; dragging the selected camera to the corresponding window of “Video Output” may realize preview, with 16 channels on a screen. For the parameter or video setup, see 2.1.5 specific method or methods 2. Tactics 2： 1、Setting of record parameters requires a “selected camera” Allocation of the following steps :

1）On the Control Panel of PC Decoder, select “ Config Channels”，

Video servers across the network will show in this dialog box. Drag the video server or choose presented above in the opening show. Drag one camera video server to "PC

2.1.2.2 Record Settings

If user needs to preserve video via network, Allocation of PC Decoder can be carried out in the following steps:

1) On the Control Panel of PC Decoder, select “ Config Channels”，then click on

“Local” Tab->PC Decoder->Record->Record Path*(Record Path 1 for instance), look at the screenshot image:

Set the continuous memory directory here. First, select “Continue.” When the first category is full, it will by default store in the next one; when the last category is full, system will auto-delete the files in Category1 recorded on the first day, and restart a new cycle of record.

2) Tactics: （Setting of record parameters requires a “selected camera”）

Select “Record State”: There are 3 options in all: Forbidden, Continue and Alarm. For a certain camera, both “Continue” and “Alarm” can be set, but a multi-mode function should be added.

Select “Record Format”: There are 2 options in all: AVI, IM4. Both can be selected. “Record Format” also requires a selected camera, and then read out the allocation.

Record Period：First, choose the start and stop time. If it is 24h continuous record, both are 0:00; then select from “Everyday”, “Assigned Date” or “Every Week.” If certain camera needs sectioned records, select it and select “Add Mode” Tab, there will be a same location number on the setting plate, users can continue to select “Record State”, “Record Format”, “Record Period” and “Save Content.”

Apply All: Set all the parameters mentioned above for Position 1 and click on “Apply All” Tab, then all the settings will by default be applied to other positions.

When record parameters are set, click “OK” and other screen groups will share the same setting. Exit this page and click the “Start” Tab on Control Panel; the image set on the console of web video server will appear on screen and record starts simultaneously. When record state isn’t continuous, the window will display:

There will be an additional tab “Save.” Users have to select for every channel the save directory, which can be applied to different cameras when video files are stored in different folders.

2.1.2.3 Alarm and Action

Alarm and Action, i.e. an event causes another reaction; eg: An alarm signal (Motion Detect Alarm or IO external equipment Alarm, etc) is generated first, which leads to Alarm Record, Digital Output nd SMS notice sent to users, etc. Before setting Alarm and Action, set PC Decoder first. Setting Procedures as below:

Open the Control Panel Devices-> PC Decoder-> Alarm and Action，the window will display：

Select Event Source

Click on “Select Event Source” Tab “

In the “Event Selection” there is a list of PC Encoders; click one, then all sorts of event sources will appear on dialog box：

Drag the selected vent source to “Action Source”(multiple choice allowed), including Video lost, Video Recover, Motion Detect, Audio Lost, Audio Recover, IO Input Normal and IO Input Alarm, etc. Eg: If drag “Camera* Motion Detect” in （192.168.0.160）Encoder to “Action Source”:

Permit Action Permitted actions include: Alarm Record, Sound, Output 1 High, Output 1 Low, Output 2 High, Output 2 Low. (Multiple options allowed)

After selecting certain action source, then select permitted actions and click on , then

click “OK” button to confirm and match “Action Source” and “Permit Action.” Proceed to other settings in detail.

Alarm Record In2.1.2.2 Record Settings-> Record State-> Alarm:

Record Format and Save Contents are the same as 2.1.2.2 Alarm Setting: To set the record time before and after alarm, then the video in this period will be saved.

2.1.3 Control Panel

2.1.2.1 Record Path

2.1.2.2 Screenshot Image

Select the capture route first，Click on ”:

The image will automatically deposited in a snap to be saved to default directory with filename as follows: “DS65535_C0A80070_00_20051107150353.bmp”,and it can be saved as specific name and path.

2.1.2.3 Display Map

Click on Control Panel, an interface like below pops out:

2.1.2.4 Playback

Click on control panel to have a dialogue box like below:

2.1.3.5 Play and Stop

Clicking on pull-down frame, we can see that there are three modes: preview/ record/ preview and record. Users select according to aims Meanwhile, the "Config" window select "Option" - "Option" -- "Execute after Start", and select the suitable option as you need. PC Decoder loads default instruction parameters

2.1.3.6 Lock Screen

In case that user temporarily leaves, the software lock can prevent outside malicious damage to the device. There are 2 default modes for such function : Automatic and Manual lock.

Manual Lock：Click on control panel

If within several seconds of no mouse or keyboard input, the framework will be posted automatically disappeared; when there is reception signal to the keyboard or mouse, then frame downloading is again activated. Only when the correct user names and passwords for importation, the entry box will no longer activated.

Auto Lock：the "Config" window select "Option" - "Option" -- "Lock Time Interval If no Operation" ,Input time, if not received within the setting time keyboard or mouse signals. after receipt of the signal to the keyboard or mouse, download dialog box will automatically be activated. (Auto-lock closed method for the set time interval: 0) Configure like below:

2.1.3.7 Select Screen Group

Click to switch among Goup1~Group12. In "Option" window if the

distribution of "Screen display by turns" ,”Alternate Interval” and "Alternate When Reset" click here "Automatic Slide", the system will automatically choose the screen group switching time .

2.1.3.8 Log History

Click on ”Log history” that users can see about the alarm information and local

operation information, like below：

2.1.4 PTZ Settings

2.1.4.1 Param Config

If users need to connect platform equipments, it is essential to set its parameters first. Setting Method: 1. Select Encoder-> Video-Audio Channel-> Camera*-> PTZ

Like the chart shows:

PTZ Address: Decided by the information provided by PTZ company; Communication Port: RS233 and RS485, decided by PTZ Port; PTZ Protocol: PelcoD and PelcoP, decided by matched PTZ Protocol;

UART Settings Method as followed: Select UART Settings : In the devices category, select Encoder-> UART-> RS485or RS233, if it is RS233, procedures follow the chart below:

Character Length: Character length applied during UART communication, range

5~8. Bit Rate: Bit Rate applied during UART communication; there are 7 options in the

pull-down menu-1200, 2400, 4800, 7200, 9600, 19200, and 38400. Stop Bit: Stop Bit during UART communication, with 3 options- 1, 1.5 and 2. Check: If users need check, select“√” before the tab “Whether Allow Check”, then

set the Check Type: Odd Check or Even Check.

2.1.4.2 Operation

PTZ Operation:

Click on the icon to adjust the PTZ, included direction, IRIS, Zoom, PAN, TILT (Please refer to PTZ manual about the range of the PAN and TILT).

Preset Setting:

Select one image.After adjusting the direction, import the preset No. or name, then click “Set” .

Preset Call:

Select the preset No. or name in the pull-down-frame, then click on “Call”.

Tour Setting:

Select one image. Click on “ScanSet”:

1、 Click on “New” and then fill in the Tour Name

2、 Add Preset: Import Preset No. or Name as been set. Set the Pause Time .And then click on “Save”. The max preset number is 16.

3、 The max Tour No. is 16.

Tour Call:

Import the tour No. or name as been set. Click on “Tour” Green means touring. Gray means stop.

Control Period:

Import current user’s controlling time. Click on “Control Period”:

Transparent COM:

Import the transparent code here. Click” More”:

1、 Import code name, code, whether hex, RS485 or RS232.And then the “Add To List”.

2、 Select the code name on the list and click on “Send”, the code will be sent to the DVS.

2.1.5 Config Channels

Channel Allocation i.e. Set up surveillance cameras on the parameters of that distribution options in the “PC Decoder”window-> Config Channel:

2.1.5.1 User Control

Video Server administrator has set up three levels: administrator, operators, guests, other. Equipment has been built at a factory manager username as "admin" password "admin." In the allocation of access for end users can be added to the operation and management. The user interface to access management is as follows:

Add User:

1. Click on the icon or click on the right button of the mouse and select the “add user” ; 2.Write the information of the new user:

Fill in the user name, password, actor, and select the device rights. Information Modification: Select the user name in the left tab, after modify the information, click on “OK”. Delete User: Select the user ,click on the right button of the mouse, and select the “Delete User”.

2.1.5.2 LAN Equipment :Auto-Search

To a "Config channels" after the system automatically searches the local video server LAN equipment., the local video server LAN equipment will be shown in the table column schedules, as in the figure below :

In the device list is system default added PC Decoder for convenient PC-end decoding configuration. If you did not find in the box corresponding equipment schedules, please confirm the following points: 1. Video Server already connected to power? 2. Video Server Network Configuration and Network Configuration whether the

mainframe at the same IP region? If not. Please change to 192.168.0.*** mainframe computer IP (Default IP 119 2.168.0.***are installed in factory), or manually adding video servers, see 2.1.5.3.

3. Video Server and the mainframe has a normal line through the Internet link? If normal network connect, network interface should be the long - or flashing beacons.

4. Computers have the power to activate the firewall process? I should be grateful if you would operate after the closure of a firewall.

2.1.5.3 WAN Equipment: Manual-Added

If another son in video server online, or on the Internet. it can automatically or manually search the need for manually operated equipment to add video server, the operating steps are as follows : 1. 2.1.5.4 Network equipment parameters

"Config Channels", users can set up a network video server parameters are configured as follows ： 1.Select one encoder, there are pages :

1. In the network message window, users can view and modify network video server

parameters, including IP addresses(the range of IP can be set as 10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255、172.16.0.0-172.31.255.255、192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255), Mask, Gateway, main domain, second domain, MAC, Config port, data ports, Vender ID, product ID, product version, device name. (users can change ,IP address, Mask, gateway acquiescence, main domain, second domain, MAC, Config port data port, Vender ID, Device name. product ID and product version is the Read-only param).

Video Server: IP addresses are manufactured: 192.168.0.55. 2.1.5.5 Video-Audio Channel

Video "Configuration" window Video Server parameters can be set. 2.1.5.6 Input-Output

Firstly, connect the IO device to the DVS. Next, set the input-output param. Select Config Channels->select the encoder->Input-Output::

Check the state of the IO-device state first. Set attribute as the IO-device state. Then Set the Alarm And Action, referring to 2.1.2.3.

2.1.5.7 OSD Setting

OSD is "On Screen Display" initials Chinese meaning and image are displayed simultaneously on-screen information. OSD can be added to the setup of content including the date time, text, images, covered the show. Add OSD as follows: 1、Choice "OSD" column of the table : The equipment selected in a video server ->OSD-> Right Key Shoot. Selection window shown in figure below:

2.1.5.8 UART parameters

Video Server Series RS232/RS485 serial link support, serial peripheral equipment for communications, If tilt control, keyboard control. Select “Config Channels” ->”Device”->UART->RS232/RS485, RS485 for example:

2、Serial Configuration parameters : 1) Character Length the word length for serial communication, option 5 to 8. 2) Bit rate: used for serial communication rate. 1200, 2400, 4800, 7200, 9600, 19200, 38400. 3) Stop Bit: stop the serial communication ceased as a median choose one place to stop, 1.5 or 2 stop bits spaces stop spaces. 4) Whether allow Checking: If not allowed to check click “OK “ directly, either choose “√” and then choose the check type :odd check or even check. 3、Serial Link : Video servers connect better equipment serial port facilities, equipment serial port will be able to proceed with the operation.

2.1.5.9 Clock Correction

Equipment, bringing their internal real-time clock chip, can end in the Config Channels of video server’s clock adjustment in the way: 1. Select: “Config Channels”->”Device”->Clock:

2. Adjustment the clock: There are two methods of adjustment, including the current server time and manual entry time. The current server is connected to the computer and video server systems. "Importation of time" could "import time," below the box for hours of manual changes support manual input time, and also supports the pull-down box to choose the time for the revised hits. 3. Confirmed: readjust the clock, confirmed hits. By adding date / time clock showed OSD access.

Network(EX)

Extended Network contains NAT, PPPOE and DDNS.

User Manage (valid for DVS/IPCAM)

The device has the build-in-user- authentication-mode, used for the purview of user’s controlling. It’s different from 2.1.5.1--user control. User control is the local user information. Firstly, select one encoder:

Enable user authenticated Select “enable user authenticated”, then the next authentication is valid. If choose the user authenticated, if user access the device, need input the user name and password.
