Camp Meeting Treats

Strong Tower Radio (STR) listeners and staff enjoyed the Michigan Camp Meeting in person and on the radio. To those not acquainted with this spiritual retreat, it is a time to focus on Bible teaching and living. STR recorded and broadcasted during the session and will continue throughout the year. Prominent speakers were Pastor Stephen Bohr of 'Secrets Unsealed' and Pastor John Bradshaw of 'It Is Written'.

The highlight of camp meeting was the in-person testimonies of Selma Williamson from Grand Rapids and Mark & Mary Yates from Midland. All three of them began their journey of knowing a crucified, risen and soon coming Saviour by listening to Strong Tower Radio. Selma was the first known baptism in the Grand Rapids Metro Region, where we went on the air soon after Camp Meeting 2016. It is amazing how well Strong Tower Radio works with the local churches in nurturing new contacts into a saving, loving relationship with Christ.

We continue to inch closer and closer to the $466,000.00 needed to purchase the 17,000 square foot FOX 32 Studio complex in Cadillac, MI. We currently have $170,000.00 in hand and have until July 1st to raise the remainder of the funds.

Our last “Open House” is Sunday June 4th from 1-4pm and we would love to have you come by and take a peek at the facility. Please prayerfully consider making a financial gift to this project. Lake Region Camp Meeting…

Tom Mejeur Sharing STR Quartet Singing

Strong Tower Radio and the STR Quartet made their first Lake Region Camp Meeting visit in Cassopolis, MI on Sabbath, June 17th. The STR Quartet sang twice for the adult morning service. In addition, we had an opportunity to introduce many to our ministry. We are super excited because this church body has many congregations in our urban broadcast areas. We look forward too many new listeners seeking out Lake Region Sabbath keeping churches.

Michigan Camp Meeting Booth…

In the exhibit tent the staff shared the ministry's progress and future plans. This year we distributed hundreds of STR license plates, bumper stickers, promo cards, bookmarks and yard signs.

Featuring the Proposed STR Broadcast Center

A large new backdrop illustrated the proposed purchase of the new STR Broadcast Center, and pull-up banners indicated our current station locations. Another feature was two monitors playing a STR Broadcast Center virtual tour by drone.

First Fruits in Grand Rapids…

Selma’s Big Moment!

Selma is retired, and now drives a former co-worker Mary, to needed appointments around town. During one trip this February, Mary told Selma about a health program she had heard on a new radio station called Strong Tower Radio. Selma quickly tuned-in but was only able to catch the final two minutes of a program called, “Charcoal Remedies.” It was so interesting, she had to hear the entire program.

So, Selma called the station requesting more information. George Corliss happened to answer the call, and he and Selma had a wonderful conversation about health that quickly turned into a spiritual discussion. Selma had attended the SDA Church when she was younger, but felt that she had too much spiritual baggage for God to deal with, and hadn’t been to church in decades.

Bible Worker Sandy & Selma George quickly shared with her about a crucified, risen and soon coming Saviour, one who loved her with an everlasting love and has never left her or forsaken her, even for a moment. He then asked if a Grand Rapids friend could follow-up with her. Selma was super excited about having someone drop by and after having prayer, George called Pastor Bob Stewart, from the Grand Rapids Central SDA Church to follow up.

Bob sent Sandy, his wife and the Grand Rapids Area Bible Worker, to follow up. The very next day, Sandy visited Selma and offered to stop by once a week and study the Bible which Selma eagerly accepted. Selma began attending church immediately and after a few months of study, was baptized on June 10th at the Grand Rapids Central SDA Church! Praise God for his greatness, mercy and patience with each one of us!

American Heroes…

Strong Tower Radio continues its tradition of playing ‘American Heroes’ stories leading up to Independence Day through September. ‘Heroes’ is produced by ‘Your Story Hour’ and is a collection of 75 inspiring stories about Americans both ordinary and famous. This special edition airs at noon during Strong Tower Radio’s Midday Theatre.

Evie Selling Lemonade

Little Evie wanted to set-up a lemonade stand because mom had bought it awhile back. Not too many people drive by their farm so she asked to bring it to camp meeting. Mom told her she couldn’t “sell” it but that if she received any money she should give it to Jesus. Evie decided to give it to Strong Tower Radio! Her customers gladly donated about $42. A little child shall lead them!

Heard on the Tram at Camp Meeting…

A husband and wife recently contemplated a move. She told her husband, “I will only move if there is an Aldi (food store) and Strong Tower Radio station!”
