Duncan Mercredi is a Cree/Metis poet, writer, and storyteller originally from Misipawistik (Grand Rapids, MB). He has published four books of poetry and has had his work featured in three anthologies of Native writings and in other periodicals such as Prairie Fire and CV2. Mercredi has also received the Ross Charles Award for his work oomsikakispanik, which was chosen for further development at the Banff Centre screenwriting workshop.
Over the years, Duncan has participated in many festivals and hosted many readings across Western Canada.
Mercredi does most of his writing as a member of Manitoba’s Aboriginal Writers Collective. He is currently working on a manuscript.
