Your daughter should seek opportunities in different areas if they can – not all 3 in music for example. Students need to search for these opportunities themselves – opportunities are not solely provided by the school. The school does offer some opportunities, but they do not suit all students.

Volunteering is simple. It’s about choosing to give time to something useful, without getting paid.

How to access this information …

Completing the award

Once you’ve completed your programme, you need to make sure:

▪ You’ve done all your sections for the minimum time required, for an average of an hour a week (or the required timescale for your expedition)

▪ You’ve uploaded all your evidence to eDofE

▪ Your Assessors have provided reports/comments on your activity, how you met your goals and how you have progressed, and you have added them into eDofE

▪ Whether you’ve submitted each section for approval as you’ve gone along, or are submitting them all at the end, your Leader will check and approve them in eDofE. Once they’ve approved your final section they will then send it to your Licensed Organisation (LO) who will check everything is in order.

All being well you will be told that you’ve achieved your Award – congratulations!

Expedition – 4th section

A Practice and the real thing!

▪ They will take place in different areas of Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire

BRONZE 2 days and 1 night At least 6 hours during the

daytime (at least 3 of which

must be spent journeying)

Costings

▪ It is £35 to register. - This is non-refundable, even if your daughter drops out. These fees are not set by Loreto College

▪ Other costs approx. £100 (costing finalised in March 2020) .

Important Dates

▪ July 2019 – Register with DofE – can begin starting 3 sections.

▪ March 2020 – Training day

▪ April 2020 - 2 out of 3 sections complete (3rd must be underway and completed by July 2020)

▪ Early May 2020 – Practice expedition weekend

▪ Late June 2020 – Assessed Expedition

Your daughters input is important!

▪ Your daughter will have a meeting to share this information next week. This will allow time for you to discuss if this is the right award for your daughter and time to pay the registration fee before the summer holidays.
