1. Overview
The Duct and Pole Access (DPA) digital map tool provides Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) established CP
customers’ information about our existing duct and pole infrastructure.
You’ll be able to see the location of our duct and structures such as joint chambers and poles.
We’re providing this tool to help you plan your network within the permitted use of the PIA product using our existing
duct and pole infrastructure.
This tool is provided to you on an ‘as is’ basis, and the information supplied is a view of the information we hold in our
systems for our duct and pole network at a point in time. We do not represent or guarantee that the information is up
to date or accurate. It cannot reflect circumstances which may only be identified during planning and survey, e.g.
recently silted duct, capacity restrictions or wayleave requirements.
We do not accept any liability arising from your use of or reliance on the digital map tool.
If you have any problems while using this tool you may see an error message. We’ve included error messages with
information on how to solve the issue, e.g. if the search criteria is entered in the wrong format.
If the errors messages don’t help or you experience systems related issues please follow the BAU process to raise a Bridge Case. This can be found at:
https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/customerzone/ciz/home.do
Accessing the DPA Digital Map Tool
The tool is available as a stand-alone, pre-order tool for Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) established customers
via our Openreach.co.uk website.
You can use the tool and then place orders as you would today.
The stand-alone tool overlays our infrastructure onto an Ordnance Survey map, which will include information such as building numbers, street names etc. The diagrams included in this user guide illustrate how the information will appear.
To access the stand-alone tool you will need a valid Openreach log in for Openreach.co.uk. The tool will appear in the My Tools section of My Dashboard:
https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/customerzone/loadMyDashboard.do
Users can request access by following the link which will appear when they click on the other tools in the My
Dashboard area of the Openreach.co.uk website. A request will then go to the person who is designated as ‘Admin’ for their organisation to authorise their access. The tool must only be used to the extent strictly necessary for the purposes of using our PIA product and is subject to Openreach’s standard terms and prices for PIA. You may be
required, whether now or at some point in the future, to accept additional terms and conditions relating to third party
software, e.g. OS. You will have to accept these terms if you want to continue to access and use the tool.

Layers pane
You can control how much information is displayed by switching the Layers on or off – this can be done by simply checking or unchecking the box next to the layer name. This can be particularly useful to see an area more clearly, e.g. if a street name was obscured by a duct you could turn off the duct layer.
The following layers of information are available to view in the map: • Duct • Structure (Jointing Chamber, Poles, etc.)
If you’re unsure whether the information on the map is related to our infrastructure or is information from Ordnance Survey you can turn off all the layers in the layers pane to view the Ordnance Survey information only.
The duct layer applies to all types of duct, including built or inferred (which is where insufficient data exists). Our
duct could contain copper or fibre.
The structure layer displays our structures such as poles, jointing chambers, cabinets and exchanges.
When placing your reservation please make sure you select both duct and structure layers to ensure all the information is provided to our Planning & Records team.

5. Openreach Pole Report
Delivery of this report is through SDEDs – Customer Establishment will guide you through this process if required
Openreach has replaced the D Pole report with a series of reports containing all pole data. The files will be available quarterly to the CPs via SDEDs.
As the entire pole data is huge in size, multiple files (by district) will be available at SDEDs for CPs to download.
A fallibility warning file will also be placed in the same folder, which will provide CPs with some warning text and
remind them to complete the safety checks.
