Program starting in October 2010: 15 July 2010 Interviews with shortlisted candidates will be held in July 2010.

A final decision will be made by the admission board be by the end of July. Decisions will be

announced shortly after.

DUAL MASTER PROGRAM URBAN DESIGNThe Urban Design Dual Degree program offers a two semester exchange stay at one of China‘s leading Universities - and in one of the most rapidly changing urban environments worldwide. Its interdisciplinary study program comprises studio and research modules offered by the Depart-ments of Architecture, Urban- and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning as well as Sociology. As the first master degree program in Germany to focus on urban de-sign, it allows for knowledge-skills in both national and international fields of research and practice and is closely connected to an international research community.

Application

The urban design dual master programme is open to students holding a bachelor or diploma in architecture, urban and regional planning, landscape architecture & planning, or comparable disciplines.¹

Criteria for Admission- academic performance- proficiency in English (TOEFL-test result of 550 points minimum (paper based) or 213 points minimum (computer-based) or 80 points minimum (internet-based)- intercultural competence, capability for intercultural learning proved through previous international experience (exchange visits)- letter of motivation- interview

Scholarships will be awarded to 10 German /German speaking² and 10 Chinese students.

Notes:1 Holders of a degree in a Comparable discipline will have to contact http://www.habitat-unit.de/contact.htm (before 1st of June) in order to be granted an exceptional admission.

2 If you‘re not a German citizen, you will have to prove your fluency in German in order to be accepted to the program (through: TestDAF (16 credit points minimum) / DSH 2 or 3 / DSD II / C2-Exam by Goethe-Institute or German university entrance diploma)
