P&I’s Associate Program is a strategic investment in developing future leaders. We seek ambitious, energetic and quantitatively adept candidates holding advanced degrees with a focus on finance and strategy

Program Details

Associates rotate through three business unit assignments lasting approximately eight months each. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, associates identify, evaluate, and execute energy-related transactions and strategies. Following the program, participants transition into new positions based on their interests and company needs

Representative Assignments

• Identifying and screening acquisition candidates

• Conducting valuation, due diligence, structuring, negotiation and integration for an acquisition

• Developing and negotiating the pricing and structure for a co-generation project

• Evaluating investments in new renewable energy technologies

• Developing a marketing plan to grow an existing product line

Wholesale and Renewable Power

P&I’s wood-fired power plants combust waste wood from surrounding areas to

produce renewable power for sale to utilities under long-term agreements

P&I Business Units

Biogas

P&I’s biogas group recovers methane gas from landfills and dairy farms and converts

the gas to renewable energy products in the form of electricity or pipeline quality gas.

Its products are sold to local utilities, industrials, refineries and municipal customers

Steel Industry Energy Solutions

P&I’s coke batteries transform metallurgical coal into coke, a necessary feedstock

to blast furnaces for steel production. The group’s pulverized coal facilities allow

integrated steel producers to use lower cost coal in place of higher cost fuels

Environmental Controls

P&I’s environmental controls group develops products and services to assist

utilities and industrial companies with environmental compliance

On-Site Energy

P&I’s on-site energy group product offerings include cogeneration of electricity

and steam, compressed air, hot and chilled water, waste water treatment, backup

power, electrical distribution and energy efficiency programs
