NATIONAL UNITY CELEBRATION N SS Cell of DSPSR organized a gathering of volunteers and the core team members, in order to celebrate the birth Anniversary of the “Iron Man of India”- Sardar Vallabhai Patel on 31 st October, 2018 from 12:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the lower ground floor (LGF). With the gathering of over 50 members, it was pledged by all to uphold the values of “Unity in Diversity” and to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity, and security of the Nation and to spread this message among fellow countrymen. The pledge taking ceremony was followed by poster making competition which commemorated the very ethics and values that we stand for. All the volunteers were thanked for their enthusiastic support. To carry forward the agenda of Green Diwali, Clean Diwali, the ECO Club and NSS Cell of DSPSR organized a rally on 1st November, 2018 between 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the vicinity of JJ Colony. The main objective of this was to spread awareness to celebrate pollution-free Diwali. DIWALI CELEBRATION

Keeping our social responsibility and the spirit of festiveseason intact in one initiative, NSS Cell and RotractClub of Delhi School of Professional Studies and

Research celebrated the Festival of Lights on 5th November,2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Lower Ground Floor

with the inhabitants of the slum. The kids were explainedabout the historical and spiritual connotation of Diwali andthe harmful consequences of bursting crackers on humans,animals and environment. Also, a Dance Competition andposter making competition were organized for the kids of JJColony in the college premises.

The session ended with prize distribution ceremony for thekids, hence marking their day with exuberance.

NUKKAD NATAK

In order to celebrate theBirth Anniversary of the“Iron Man of India”-

Sardar Vallabhai Patel, NSSCell of Delhi School ofProfessional Studies andResearch, arranged aNukkad Natak on the topic,“Unity in Diversity” on 19th

November 2019. A huge crowd gathered around the badmintoncourt to watch the play. The play emphasized on theimportance of staying united in every situation. The splendidperformance by the group was incredibly moving. We can

only hope that our small effort helped in sensitizing the crowdabout the importance of staying united and imbibe it in theirlife to live a healthier and happier life.

SESSION ON “GROUP DISCUSSION”

A session on “Group Discussion” was organized by DelhiSchool of Professional Studies and Research(DSPSR) on October 12, 2018 in the college premises.

Mr. Abhishek Vyas, Senior Trainer, T.I.M.E, addressed thestudents of BBA (Final year). He enlightened the studentsabout GD and how to perform well in GD conducted by

companies and universities. Students actively participatedin the mock GDs on various topics. One of the topics for themock GD discussion was – Mass Media: advantages anddisadvantages. He guided the students and gave valuablesuggestions for their improvement.

WORKSHOP ON “CAT PREPARATION”

Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research(DSPSR) organized One Day Workshop on the topic“Preparation of CAT-2018” on October 5, 2018.

Mr. G.N. Mishra, Senior Regional head Academic at T.I.M.E.addressed the aspirants of CAT – 2018 and gave several tipsand specific road-map for achieving success in the exam.

GUEST LECTURE ON “COMMODITYAWARENESS”

Delhi School ofProfessional Studiesand Research

(DSPSR) organized a guestlecture on the topic“Commodity Awareness” onOctober 1, 2018.

The lecture was delivered byMr. Vinit Singh Kaler, Sr. Manager - Training & Education,MCX India Ltd. Mr. Kaler is also an Alumni of  DSPSR fromBBA 2001-04 batch. He explained various aspects of commoditymarket and also the real time price change. The lecture wasvery informative and worth hearing for the students.

GUEST LECTURE ON “FINANCIALLITERACY

A Guest Lecture on the topic “Financial Literacy” wasorganized by Delhi School of Professional Studies andResearch (DSPSR) on October 3, 2018.

The guest, Mr. Harshul Nagpal, Academic Associate fromNational Institute of Securities Market, shared the words ofwisdom with the students. He discussed various aspects suchas safety measures and creating passwords for financialpurposes and information pertaining to Debit Card and CreditCard. It was a great learning session for the students.

GUEST LECTURE ON “ANALYTICS”

Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research(DSPSR) organized a guest lecture on the topic“Analytics” on October 23, 2018. Mr. Andy, Director

from BiCon India addressed the students of BBA and B. Com.(Hons.) 3rd year.

He talked about the importance of knowing and practicinganalytics in terms of career opportunities. Also, he enlightenedthe students about the job opportunities that are available inthis field for freshers who can get good salary package justafter completion of such add on certificate courses.

The session benefitted the students as they came to knowabout the type of work to be done in this field and theemployment opportunities.

GUEST LECTURE ON “CV WRITING”

A guest lecture on the topic “CV writing” was organizedin Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research(DSPSR) on October 30, 2018.

The lecture was delivered by Ms. Jyoti Kukreja, AssistantProfessor from JIMS Kalka Ji. She addressed the students ofBBA and B. Com. (Hons.) 3rd year. Ms. Kukreja made thestudents understand the difference between a resume and aCV. Further she elaborated do’s and don’ts that should bekept in mind while writing a CV. She emphasized that writinga successful CV is the first step towards gaining a jobinterview. It was a learning session for the students.

EDUCATION LOAN AWARENESSPROGRAMME

An Education Loan Awareness Programme wasorganized in Delhi School of Professional Studies andResearch (DSPSR) on October 22, 2018. Mr. Amarjeet

Singh, Assistant Manager from Delhi Financial &Development Corporation addressed the students of BBA 1st

year. Mr. Singh talked about the ins and outs of education loanoffered by his Corporation under Delhi Government, whichalso caters to the needs of different minority sections of Delhi.

STUDY VISIT TO PARLIAMENT HOUSE

Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research(DSPSR) organized a study visit to the ParliamentHouse on November 2, 2018 for BBA 1st semester

students. The students were accompanied by two facultymembers of the college: Dr Sima Singh and Ms. RadhikaSethi. The students were briefed about the history, structure,functioning and roles of both the houses of Parliament viz.Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and were given some insights asto how laws are made in our country. After this session,students were taken to see the different sections of ParliamentHouse i.e. Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Central Hall.

DSPSR ALUMNI MEET 2018

DSPSR Alumni Meet2018 was organisedby Delhi School of

Professional Studies andResearch (DSPSR) in thecollege premises onNovember 18, 2018. Theevent started with lighting ofthe lamp ceremony by Prof.

Ajay Kr. Singh, Honorary President, DSPSR ; Prof. G. S.Popli, Executive Director, DSPSR ; Mr. Anjani KumarBhatnagar, the newly appointed President of DSPSR AlumniAssociation and other alumni.

The event progressed with a welcome address by Prof. AjayKr. Singh, Honorary President, DSPSR. After the welcomeaddress, few alumni were facilitated with the distinguishedAlumni Award for their exceptional professional growth.

The session continued with the cultural performances bystudents, power point presentation on DSPSR and experiencesharing by alumni. Towards the end of the session Prof G. S.Popli, Executive Director, DSPSR addressed the gathering.The meet concluded with the vote of thanks by Alumnirepresentative, Mr. Abhishek Gupta and Dr. AnupamaLakhera, Lead – Alumni Association Team, DSPSR. Theevent was followed by lunch. Over 85 alumni attended theDSPSR Alumni Meet 2018 thus making it a grand success.

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON “CONTEM-PORARY ISSUES AND PREDICTIVEMODELS IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE”

An InternationalSeminar wasorganized on the

theme “Contemporary Issuesand Predictive Models inAccounting and Finance”under the joint auspices ofDelhi School of ProfessionalStudies and Research(DSPSR) and Indian Commerce Association Delhi- NCRChapter on November 27, 2018.

The International Seminar began with the welcome addressby Ms. Mani Goswami, followed by honoringthe distinguished guests by Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh withpresentation of planters.

The first session started with the address of Prof.Rajendra P.Srivastava .After that, the speaker for the second session,Dr.NeerajSehrawat, discussed a theoretical framework forpredicting the bankruptcy . Further, Dr. Amitabh Gupta,moderator of the seminar opened up the session for questionanswers.

Lastly, Prof. (Dr.) G.S Popli proposed the vote of thanks. Theevent ended with the distribution of certificates of participationto the ones who attended the seminar.

MDP ON “STRESS MANAGEMENT”

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON “QUALITYOF HIGHER EDUCATION AND ROLE OFACCREDITATION”

An InternationalSeminar wasorganized under the

joint auspices of Delhi Schoolof Professional Studies andResearch (DSPSR), SriAurobindo College (Evening),University of Delhi andIndian Commerce AssociationDelhi- NCR Chapter on December 19, 2018.

The International Seminar began with welcome address,followed by honoring the distinguished guests withpresentation of planters. Ar. Rtr. Neeraj Gupta introducedthe Speakers and also shared about the key accolades of thespeakers.. Further Dr.Namita Rajput, Principal (OSD) ShriAurobindoCollege, University of Delhi addressed theparticipants.

Dr.Avinandan Mukherjee, Dean of the AACSB AccreditedLewis College of Business and Professor of Marketing atMarshall University, USA, highlighted the pillars of AACSBAccreditation which included engagement, innovation andimpact. Dr.Rajendar Garg, Professor in Marketing, IndianaUniversity of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA, wasthe second speaker for the seminar. Post Lunch, Dr RajeshKhajuria, Commissioner, ACBSP, USA, gave his presentationthrough ‘skype’. Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Popli proposed the vote ofthanks and the event ended with the distribution of certificatesof participation.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP AT DELHISCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIESAND RESEARCH

The Delhi School of Professional Studies and Researchin association with Rotary Blood Bank, TughlakabadInstitutional Area, New Delhi and Rotary Club of Delhi

Maurya organized Professor P.N. Singh Memorial BLOODDONATION CAMP in its college premises on 4th october,2018. Prof. Ravinder Vinayek, Director of the institutionwelcomed the team of doctors and other staff members fromthe Rotary Blood Bank. He enhanced the enthusiasm among

the students and motivated them to participate in the noblecause. The students and faculty members from the nearbycolleges were also invited to participate in the camp.

99 units of blood were collected throughout duration of  thecamp which started at 11 am and ended at 3 pm. The donorswere provided a Donor Card along with Souvenir for theirparticipation in the camp. All the students as well as the staffmembers participated in the Camp with zeal and enthusiasm.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO MCLEODGANJ/DHARAMSHALA

Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research(DSPSR) organized an industrial visit to Mcleodganj/Dharamshala on 21st October 2018. The students were

accompanied by faculty members.

The students were briefed about the Wah Tea Estate whichwas established in 1857 by the British. The estate saw decadesof continuous cultivation, until a devastating earthquakestruck the region in 1905 and badly disrupted the industry.The Wah estate was then taken over by Sir Sikander Hayat-Khan, the son of the Nawab of Wah in Pakistan, who namedthe estate after his birthplace. The word ‘Wah’ means ‘wow’,and a visit to the estate will hopefully elicit the same reaction.Towards the end of the day, the students learned a lot aboutthe entire process preparation of tea.

15TH ANNUAL INTER COLLEGIATE SPORTSMEET GGSIPU

The Universityorganised its 15th

Inter Collegiate SportsMeet from 11th October to 13th

October. The chief guest of theevent was Padma ShreeGurbachan Singh Randhawaformer Indian Athlete.Directorate of Student’sWelfare addressed all the students, faculty members and otherofficials. The events included Athletics, Badminton, Basketball,Kabaddi, Tug of War, Volleyball etc. The event concluded withthe prize distribution ceremony and it was filled up withenthusiasm.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

The Annual Sports Meet of DSPSR was organised on27th October 2018. The list of events is asfollows: (i) Outdoor Events: Cricket, Futsal (Mini

Football), Volleyball (Men), Volleyball (Women), Tug Of War(Men), Tug of War (Women), Athletics 100 m (Men), Athletics100 m (Women), Lemon Race (Men), Lemon Race (Women),

(ii) Indoor Events: Carrom (Doubles Only), Table Tennis,Chess. The students enjoyed a lot in this event and they werealso appreciated for good performance.
