PosiTector 200-Introduction

PosiTector 200 used for Non destructive thickness measurement of one or more layered dry surfaces in microns /Mils.

This Instrument work on Ultrasonic waves due to variation in density on interfaces.

The standard test method is described in ASTM D6132-04. “Standard Test Method for Nondestructive Measurement of Dry Film Thickness of Applied Organic Coatings Using an Ultrasonic Gage” (2004, ASTM).

Dual Layer Measurement

Graphics option of Instrument accessed using the “Set Range” menu.

Narrow and high peaks denotes major change in density and uniform

Wide and low peaks indicate –Blended/Composite materials where density is gradually change

Positector 200 use highest peaks as a thickness results in selected range in case of multilayer it uses two or three higher peaks for out put.

The nature of composition of a composite can be understood easily by Graphical representation.
