A drug is defined as a substance used in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of a disease or

however, many people only recognize them as chemical substance,

such as a narcotic or hallucinogen, that affects the central nervous system,

causing changes in behavior and often addiction.

The drug trade and drug trafficking was originated when the distribution of drugs, illicit or not, became illegal.
