The Aspley State School uniform is worn proudly by all our students. School uniforms help encourage a sense of being part of a school community. Both our formal and sports uniforms have been designed to be practical, comfortable and sun safe.
Wearing the school uniform is an enrolment expectation. Students are able to wear either the formal or sports uniform each day depending on the activities they undertake. Students are sometimes required to wear the formal uniform for special occasions, such as school photos, special excursions and events.
NAME CLOTHING & LOST PROPERTY
All items of clothing should be clearly marked with the student’s name and class. Clothing items that are clearly named can easily be returned to students. Lost property is placed in the lost property basket located outside of ‘The Aspley Shop’.
THE ASPLEY SHOP
The Parents &Citizens’ Association supports the wearing of the school uniform. Most uniform items, including some second hand items, can be purchased at The Aspley Shop which is located on the Eastern side of the School Hall.
The Aspley Shop accepts cash, cheque, EFT and most major credit cards. The uniforms can be purchased via Flexischools

DRESS STANDARDS
SHOES Enclosed black shoes (formal uniform) Black or white joggers (sports uniform)
HAIR Longer than ear lobes MUST be tied back. Fringes must not impede vision. Natural colours only. Mohawks and etching are not permitted.
JEWELLERY Only the following items may be worn: Watch (not including an I-Watch) Earrings - plain small studs and sleepers Only wrist bands approved through a
health plan
NAIL POLISH Not permitted
HATS
Aspley State School is a ‘SunSmart School’. We have a strict ‘no hat, no play’ policy. Bucket or wide brimmed hats are available from The Aspley Shop. Students are required to wear sun safe hats for all outdoor activities.
FORMAL UNIFORM The formal uniform is to be worn for as-sembly, special occasions and school photos. It can also be worn on regular school days.
SPORTS UNIFORM The sports uniform should be worn for Physical Education lessons and inter-school sports days.

SPORTS HOUSES
Students are allocated into one of three sporting houses, Kennedy, Mitchell and Oxley. The sports house polo shirts are worn on sports days, swimming carnival days and on some excursions.
