a 400 acre gated community, coming soon to Lacovia St. Elizabeth. The site is located in the vicinity ofBurton in North East St. Elizabeth.

PalmBrook Estate, the first development of its kind in St. Elizabeth, will feature 382 residential lots,divided into three phases, surrounded by lush beautiful natural landscape. Lots are also reservedfor commercial and educational purposes. The projected completion date for Phase 1 of PalmBrookEstate is October 2016. Moorland hires PR Girl Marie Berbick to headMarketing Department Moorland Development Company Ltd., has hired PR Girl Marie Berbick to head its marketing departmentas the company seeks to ramp up its marketing in the local and overseasmarkets. Marie Berbick, popularly known as “The PRGirl” joined the Moorlandteam in January. With over 20 years’ experience in Public Relations andMarketing locally and internationally, Berbick is known in industry circles as adynamic marketing professional who has pioneered various communicationinitiatives. These include hosting Marketing Mix, the first local radio programme,which focused on marketing and public relations and publishing StratCom, thefirst local newsletter geared at communications professionals.

She is also the first winner of the Microsoft sponsored Press Association ofJamaica’s (PAJ) award for Excellence in Online Journalism. She took home theaward in 2008 for Masscom Magazine.com, the first local website forcommunicators. “One of Moorland’s main objectives over the next two to three years is toincrease our market share to 30% within our segment of the market Marie ThePRGirl Berbick(developed lots from $2.5-$5m). I am looking forward to making a significantly positive impact in thisregard and to strengthen our competitive advantage and build brand equity. I expect that by 2018, therewon’t be one person in Jamaica who isn’t aware of the Moorland brand and what we represent,” Berbicksaid.

Owners of houses at The Glades, the Townhouse section of Moorlands Estate were recently presentedwith their remotes for the gate. Moorland Development formally handed over the remotes to the home owners on Wednesday January20. Project Manager at Moorland Development, Cyprian Smith, reiterated to the homeowners, Moorland’scommitment to providing them with a secure living environment.

“We are committed to ensuring that our home owners can enjoy 24 hour security within our gatedcommunities,” Mr. Smith said.

Community Outreach - Moorland SupportsHolland Bamboo 5K Walk/Run The Moorland team was well represented at the Holland Bamboo 5K Run/Walk in November last year.Moorland, who were one of the sponsors of the event, fielded a full team which participated in both the5K Run and the Walk.
