Dream Symbols

Dream Symbols interpretation can be seriously illuminating, expanding your capacity for awareness and self-understanding. There is a strong body of thought amongst the psychoanalytical community that it is impossible to analyze your own dreams. That there needs to be an active second party to isolate, break down, and free the repressions that exist in your unconscious mind.

The sampling here gives you access to some of the collective and unconscious values of the symbols our minds choose to dream, and do no more than suggest from where they may have come. But I found (completely by mistake) the most comprehensive dream dictionary with the most plausible answers and solutions on the net bar none just a few months ago. Read on to find out how I discovered this, or see if you can find your symbol on this document, or just click the link below to find out for yourself.

You can find larger lists than this on the internet, and they are helpful to some degree. But none can claim to be an authority (nor am I), some even contradict each other. I had decided to investigate the use of sine wave generators (using audio tapes) as a legitimate means to enable the brain to control dreaming.

I went to the most reputable company in this are at the moment, Brainwave Entertainment, and downloaded their free sample. This had some results worth investigating further so I purchased one of their mp3 products. Now while the jury is still out on their Binaural Beats (these investigations take time), I was pleasantly surprised at the free gifts that come with any purchase, worth more than the actual item itself. Enough talking from me, take a look for yourself. Learn to control your dreams, and get the most comprehensive online dream symbol dictionary. Most Common Dream Symbols (these small explanations are not taken from the dictionary above) Bells These can be protective (in the sense of warning) or predictive (in the sense of being ominous).

Bricks These are symbolic of a lower plane; they are conduits through which things may

be made.

Camels A more common symbol than some may think. This in Christian iconography symbolizes submission, or obedience, to higher guidance. Camels are also stubborn creatures and represent individuality and even eccentricity in the face of coercion. Crashes These indicate coming or feared conditions.

Dying This may be a convenient symbol for the dreamer to resist, thus reinforcing and protecting the dreamers ego.

Earrings They have been around since 3000BC, and have significantly different meanings for men and women. For women, they maybe a symbol of her value to her partner, or represent her self worth. For a man they frequently represent status and symbolic possession.

Floating This represents a state of inertia, and movement needs to be made in any direction to move on.

Flying This usually represents a desire for independence. It may represent the memory of ones youth when we had more freedom.

Heaters These equate with the heart on their most obvious level. But they may also suggest a desire on the part of the dreamer for nurturing and tender loving care.

Horses Horses symbolize speed and grace. In their winged state the can imply transcendence, and in their wild state they suggest the instinctive drives of the unconscious. In their literal sense they can also symbolize nightmares. Oceans Oceans, like lakes and seas, indicate hidden emotional depths. the surface is impressive, but the real mystery is contained within. They are able to carry the dreamer to places they would rather not go.

Snakes These represent wisdom, fertility, initiation, and transcendence. In Christian iconography, they represent Satan.

Tattoo This can reflect both identity and ownership. This may also carry revocations of shame and disenfranchisement (as in a slave tattoo or from a concentration camp). They can also have a paradoxical meaning, such as making a virtue of the wearing of a mark of shame.

Toes These suggest balance, in that the removal of even one undermines the bodys equilibrium.

Tooth dreams These were, for a long time, associated with the idea of death. The image of a fallen or extracted tooth is deeply symbolical, and can be related to just about any loss whatsoever. This is all the more relevant in dream terms as it is a personal loss. Tooth dreams are entirely dependent on the emotion that accompanies them .So extraction can be a good thing, the release from pain, or a bad thing, a bereavement or a marring of beauty. The losing of teeth can also represent the aging process, the perceived degeneration of the intellect or a major life change.

Water

This represents the possibility of unknown powers or emotions. Deep water represents the unconscious or the psyche. Hesitating to enter the water can represent the doubts of ones depths and where that may lead.
