A LETTER FROM OUR SENIOR PASTORSAt the end of March is our annual opportunity to massively impact the future of our Cities and the gener-ations to come. It’s the Dream Offering – your chance to give towards both the buildings and facilities of Hope City Church across all of our 11 locations. We represent over 2500 people all the way from Northum-bria to Shoreditch, Liverpool to Sheffield and Frankfurt to our newest location in Kuala Lumpur! ▶NEXT PAGE

ONE SEATMost of our locations and ministry hubs are situated in hotels or in hired facilities. Our goal is for every location to have its own place you can call home – a permanent place open 7 days a week that becomes the vibrant heartlands of your City and National Vision. For those congregations of Hope City that already have a home, our goal is to make it bigger and better or to move into a place... bigger and better in order to facilitate for all that we believe God is going to do.

Buildings are like cars. They’re designed to take us somewhere. And that somewhere is the salvation of thousands of souls – souls, like you and me, plucked out of the cold and into the arms of Christ. Our home is in Christ as well as in the heart of all Christ has brought together to be – his Church and his people. Yet home is also all the places we gather, unite, worship, serve, love, laugh, pray, dream and get inspired to lift up a generation. It’s in our build-ings.

This isn’t a small thing. This affects our whole lives, our dreams and our resources. I know that this coming Dream Offering will be our largest ever. Thanks to the purity and passion of all who call Hope City their home.

The monies will be kept aside for the coming future home of Hope City Liverpool.

SHEFFIELDTo invest into the purchasing of land for the construction of a 1500- seater auditorium and campus development.


The monies will be used to purchase five

acres of land at a cost of £1 million. It’s the start of a dream coming true.

LEEDSTo invest into the financial infrastructure of Hope City Leeds, to expand the current auditorium capacity by 100 and to equip and renovate the new facility with further 200 seats. The new auditorium will house around 500 seats.


The monies will be used for both internal strengthening and for eternal expansion with a portion kept aside for the move to the larger auditorium.

LONDONTo invest in an expansion of 100 seats rep-

resenting 100 lives changed in the Nations’ Capital.


The monies will be used to facilitate 100 more people and completely fill the Rich Mix venue.

NEWCASTLE & SUNDER-LANDTo invest into the increase of 100 souls repre-sented by 100 seats added on a Sunday.


All monies will be used to facilitate the drive to fill our new 200- seat auditorium.

THE STRATEGYCurrently, Hope City Church is one church in eleven locations and this is our strategy for each location.

ACCRATo invest in the creation of a 300- seater auditori-um on top of the existing facility. With two servic-es were aiming to create a capacity of 600- seats.

The monies will go towards the building and equipping of the new building development.

LANCASHIRETo invest in an expansion of 200 seats represent-ing 200 new believers in Christ.


All monies will be set aside in the Dream Offering account for the future home of Hope City Lanca-shire.

FRANKFURTTo invest in the expansion of 200 seats represents 200 souls saved and united into the life of the church.

The monies will be kept aside for the renovations of the next 200- seater capacity venue.

BIRMINGHAMTo invest in an expansion of 100 seats represent-ing 100 lives plucked out of the darkness and into the light.


The monies will be set aside in the Dream Offer-ing for the future renovations of the come of Hope City Birmingham.

KUALA LUMPURTo invest in the launch of Hope City Kuala Lum-pur by investing in 100 chairs representing 100 lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.

Every year we jointly commit to the task of resourcing the vision that God has given us. When we work together in unity we can build something that enables God to reach the world and become reconciled to Him. Giving to The Dream Offering will both unite you with a community of believers that will become more and more like the family your soul was born for, as well as set you up for personal blessings. To invest generously col-lides you with hundreds of prom-ises in God’s Word. Jesus struck a covenant on the cross through his blood to look after you and bless you, yet it’s our sacrifice that puts us in the place of faith that God wants to bless. We don’t earn it; we reposition ourselves to receive it.

How can you be a part of the Dream Offering 2015?

1. Pray and Consider the level of giving you feel is both appropriate to your budget as well as appropriate to the dream you feel within your heart for God’s church, your city and your own life.

2. Choose a Way to Give. Regular monthly giving via standing order is the most successful way to fulfil your com-mitment to the Dream Offering. This can be done by setting up a standing order with your bank.

A single donation is also a great way to give. Or you can give both a single sacrificed donation and mix it with regular monthly giving to create a powerful act of personal generosity and responsibility.

3. One Time Donations and Sunday Offerings. You can always give in the comfort of your own home using the account information found on the offer-ing envelopes. You can also give using the envelope system on a weekend by ticking on the envelope what you want your money to go towards.

FAQsDO I HAVE TO INVEST IN A MINIMUM OF ONE SEAT?

To begin with, all giving comes from the heart and there is no compulsion whatsoever to give. This is a Dream Offering and open to all who share in the dream of seeing the facilities of Hope City Church expanded and developed through our seat sponsorship program.

If you can’t invest in a single seat, we have made provision for you to make an investment that goes towards a single seat. It will be added to all of the other ‘part seat’ investments to create rows and rows of seats for the vision.

WHAT ABOUT THE GIFT AID ON ALL THE MONEY I GIVE?

If you are a UK Tax payer and you have filled out the Gift Aid section on the regular offer-ing envelopes previously, or on the Dream Offering pledge form, then Hope City Church can claim an extra 25% of your gift as a tax return.

A majority of this Gift Aid will go towards the land purchase for our new Sheffield Campus: Additionally we will be supporting:-

a) Our Christmas Giveaway. We will be giving away gifts both large and small each Sunday in December in all of our Locations. This is a follow on from our annual Night of Honour vision in celebrating the unsung heroes of our cities and regions.

b) Our commitment to the personal support for Joel and Emma Burden in Kuala Lumpur, which includes transportation and living requirements.

c) A new church plant called Resurgence Church in Montreal Canada. Andrew and Vanessa Hoyes, originally from Generation Church on the Gold Coast of Australia (now Hillsong Gold Coast) have felt a huge burden to plant a new church in Canada and it would be our privilege to give a two-year commit-ment towards it.

d) Disaster Relief. We believe that we need to have finances ready at hand to give towards misfortune in countries across the world in 2015.

e) Discretional Giving. We need to direct our finances to particular needs now and then in certain Locations. This will enable us to do so without straining the budget flow of finance.

PBHOW DO I KNOW THAT MY MONEY WILL BE USED WISELY AND USED WITH INTEGRITY?

All of the accounts of Hope City Church which includes Megacentre Ltd, City Hearts, and Mega-Nursery, as well as Hope City Church are annually audited by the accountancy firm – UHY Wingfield Slater. They meet the strict standards of the Charities Commission and are scrutinised to the highest of standards.

Our Finance Department is led by Sarah Dunys and the team are trained regularly in proper, efficient procedures in all financial matters. Sarah comes un-der the Senior Leadership team of Hope City Church (Dave and Jenny Gilpin, Colin Blois, Chris Denham), the trustees of the Charity (Paul Benger (Christian Life Church, Chesterfield), Colin Davies, Chris Davies and Roger Davies (no-relation) as well as Dave Gil-pin) as well as the general oversight of C3 Europe led by Simon and Valerie McIntyre (C3 London).

IF I GIVE REGULARLY, HOW LONG IS MYCOMMITMENT?

In all Locations except for Frankfurt and Accra, your commitment is for 12 months. If you are a part of our Frankfurt and Accra Location, your commitment is for 6 months.

WHAT IF I CANNOT FULFIL MY PLEDGE?

Every location has a Dream Offering Manager who is dedicated to helping people navigate the water and deliver on their commitments. If you feel like you cannot fulfil your pledge through ‘out of control’ debt or through over-enthusiasm, we would suggest you extend the time taken to fulfil your pledge by seeing the Dream Offering Manager.

We believe that with ‘out of control’ debt, your first priority after tithing is to see a debt counsellor or the like and resolve your difficulties through both prayer and sound financial management. After that has happened your commitments can then be prioritised to prevent you from re-entering the debt cycle.

WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY?

All of our records are kept with the strictest of confidence and a code of conduct in our finance department. Only those who are set to manage The Dream Offering can access the records.

I AM NEW TO CHURCH. SHOULD I BE GIVING TO THE DREAM OFFERING?

It’s completely up to you. Some people jump in and enjoy the speed of getting right into the life flow of the church while others are more tentative. It all

depends upon your choice and your desires. Please feel no compulsion to give and no guilt at all if you chose not to.

We build Hope City Church on vision first, com-mitment second. Without a word of inspiration, all you get is high perspiration. And we don’t want you sweating. So look to the Holy Spirit and do what you feel right to do.

WHAT IF I’M NOT HERE ON DREAM OFFERING SUNDAY?

You can give before the Sunday using the pledge form or on Catch Up Sunday, which is the week after. This year, catch up Sunday is on Easter Sunday 05 April.
