Dragos Bogdan – Reference projects at AEDIFICIA MP Justice Palace in Bucharest – Rehabilitation project (1998-1999) The structure is executed with monumental masonry elements (columns with 2x2 m), reinforced concrete thin slabs over steel beams and a monumental wood roof. The building is divided in 7 independent wings and inside has some historic protected mural paintings. Duties: Modelling, designing and optimising the strength structure according to Romanian standards and normative in force and searching and implementing a rehabilitation solution that not affect the mural paintings; The solution agreed by the authorities was to build 7 reinforced concrete cores inside interior courts of the building connecting them with reinforced concrete flat slabs; Development of drawings, technical memorandums and technical specifications; Developed and implemented special details for reinforced concrete and steel elements. Catalytic cracking reactor’s steel strength structure – Rehabilitation project (1998-1999) The strength structure is 43 m tall and has 2x1 bays of 6.05 m and is entirely executed with American wide beams (the structure was raised in year 1965); This first rehabilitation project was needed because the beneficiary wanted to change the existing reactor (at that time) with a new one and the Romanian seismic standard experienced some improvements toward the one from year 1965; Duties: Modelling the strength structure, designing and optimising the rehabilitation system according to Romanian standards and normative in force at that time; Studied and developed the rehabilitation solution using a tuned mass damper at the top of the structure; Development of drawings, technical memorandums and technical specifications; Developed and implemented special details for mounting the tuned mass damper on the strength structure. 1/1
