Dragon Well Tea and Emperor Qian Long (1711-1799 AD) • Qing Dynasty Emperor Qian Long brought back
some tea leaves from Hong Zhou to Beijing. After he returned to Forbidden City, his palace, the servants reported that his mother was sick.
• When he visited her, he offered the tea to her. She felt much better and gradually recovered.
• It is said that the shape of Dragon Well
(Longjing) Tea was designed to mimic the appearance of the flattened leaves that the emperor brewed for his mother.
