 Every  public  school  has  an  assigned  Teen  Parent  Social  Worker  (TPSW).  Contact  your  TPSW  regarding  any  student  parenting  a  child  or  with  a  possible  pregnancy  for  a  service  intake  assessment.

The  philosophy  of  the  Teen  Parent  

Program  is  that  dropout  prevention  is  

best  achieved  through  the  provision  

of  academic  and  socio-­‐emotional  

supports.  Our  purpose  is  to  offer  

academic  alternatives,  child  care,  and    

counseling  to  ensure  a  secure  future  

for  the  student  and  child.  

The TPSW will: o Play a major role in the student’s support system

through a full range of guidance services including career and personal counseling.

o Collaborate with school staff and family to address all accommodations needed for successful academic achievement.

o Link the student to all available community resources that are necessary to promote and sustain progress for student and child.

o Address parenting and the developmental progress of both student and child.
