•The idea of the project is to transfer adaptively the haptic data through 5G

networks.

•“Haptics” refer to the science of manual sensing and manipulation of surrounding

objects and environments through the sense of touch

Objectives:

1. Haptic –Audio-Video adaptive delivery through 4G/5G mobile network 2. Creation of multimedia service Chain to be deployed into mobile

operator’s infrastructure 3. Elastyc multi-mode content delivery 4. QoE-driven multimedia delivery through multi-path adaptive streaming

and resource control 5. New transport protocols for Haptic applications

For this purpose, a number of network functions will be located into the BaseBand Unit (BBU) Cloud in order to manage and control the multimedia delivery. These functions will contain operations such as: • Wireless resource control • Bandwidth Adaptive Delivery • Multi-path streaming management for bandwidth aggregation • Mobility control • User-requested services (anycast and broadcast) • Advertisement • Security functionalities

Massive broadband (xMBB) that delivers gigabytes of bandwidth on demand

Massive machine-type communication (mMTC) that connects billions of sensors and machines - IoT

Critical machine-type communication (uMTC) that allows immediate feedback with high reliability and enables for example remote control over robots (Haptics).
