Purpose:

To promote the management of the world’s petroleum resources for the benefit of mankind. It aims to encourage the application of scientific and technological advances and the study of economic, financial, management, environmental and social issues relating to the petroleum industry .

• The greenhouse effect is a natural process• Concern is over the enhanced greenhouse effect• Human activities, especially the use of fossil fuels,

may be influencing the climate• The burning of fossil fuels, mainly coal, oil and
