About Center

Dr. Ambedkar Studies Center was established in the university campus

under scheme of "Epoch Making Social Thinkers of India" of University

Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi during Xth Plan period (2009-

2010 to 2011-2012) in the year 2010 to disseminate thoughts of Dr. B.

R. Ambedkar to the community by arranging lectures, seminars and

workshops. The center was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Mr.

R. S. alias DadasahebGawai, (then Governor of Bihar State) on 31th

September 2006. Presently, center is being run by University by making

a financial provision from University General Fund.

Aims and Objectives

To undertake major / minor research projects pertaining to

especially the local issues and problems in the region.

To organize Seminars / Conferences / Workshops and

disseminate advanced knowledge among students and spread

awareness among the public.

To provide opportunities and encourage students for carrying on

research works.

To develop orientation among the students for social work in

backward communities.

To undertake extension activities and establish linkage with the

local communities.

To encourage the students for various competitive examinations

i.e. SET / NET / MPSC / UPSC etc.

To strengthen research in the thrust area of the Centre namely:

Underdevelopment of Marginalized Communities, Rural and

Urban Society in India.

To impart qualitative higher knowledge and guidance to the

students in the subject at M.A., M. Phil. and Ph. D. levels.

1. Invited Lectures of Dr. GovindGayaki was organized

2. On 26th November 2019was celebrated "Constitution Day" at

Dr. Ambedkar Studies Center. The Program was chaired by Dr.

MurlidharChandekar (Vice-Chancellor, SantGadge Baba

Amravati University, Amravati).

3. On 6th December 2019 paid Homage to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar's

on "Mahaparinirvan day".

2018-2019

1. An Invited lecture of Dr. PrabhakarNisargadh, Sociology

Department, Shri. Yadav, Arts and Science College,

PethWadgaon Dist. Latur was organized by the center in Dr.

BabasahebAmbedkar Lecture Series in the memory of Late.

GovindaraojiKhobragade on "२१ या शतकातील सामािजक

आंदोलने"on 29thMarch 2019. The function was inaugurated by

the chair of Dr. Rajesh Jaipurkar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor,

SantGadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati and Dr. B. G.

Khobragade(Ex Co-director, Higher Education Department)

was a Special Guest.

2. Eighteen Hours Study program organized on 11th April 2019 to

14th April 2019.

3. Center was celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R.

Ambedkar at the Ambedkar Studies Center on 14th April 2019.

Certificate was distributed to the students who were participated

in the 18th Hours Study program. Teachers, Officers, Workers,

Students and parents attended this program.

4. Books and Picture Exhibition was organized jointly with N. S.

S.at the Irvin square.Street play was presented by the BARTI

Institute. Dr. MurlidharChandekar (Vice-Chancellor, SGBAU)

was visited the stall and the Guardian Minister of Amravati

District MLA Hon. PravinjiPote also visited and felicitate about

the activities run by the center.

5. An Invited lecture of Dr. RavindraMundrewas organized by the

center on "डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकराचंा समतावादी टीकोन" on

13th April 2019 in the chair of Dr. MurlidharChandekar, (Vice-

Chancellor, SantGadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati)on

the occasion of Social Equity Week.

6. Preamble distribution program was held at the Irvin Square,

Amravati on 14th April, 2019.

7. At Students hostels of University on the occasion of Social

Equality Week Books Exhibition was organized. An Invited

lecture of Dr. M. R. Ingale was organized for the students.

Various programs such as Essay writing competition, General

Knowledge Competition and other Competition and mission

cleanliness were organized by the center.

8. Social Equity Week From 11th April 2019 to 15th April 2019

Mahatma JyotibaPhule and Dr. BabasahebAmbedkarJoint Birth

Anniversary was Inaugurated by the chaired Dr. Rajesh

Jaypurkar (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, SantGadge Baba Amravati

University, Amravati), Dr. HemantDeshmukh (Director,

Examination and Evaluation, SGBAU), Prof. Dr. VilasjiSapkal,

Pro. Dr. Omanwar and Prof. Dr. Wadegaonkar and organized

various program such as lectures, 18th hours Study, distribution

of Preambles, Poster Exhibition, Symposium and Cultural

program.

9. An Invited lecture of Prof. Dr. PrafullaGawai, (Member,

Management Committee, SGBAU). The program was chaired

by Dr. B. R. Waghmare (Ex-Examination Controller, SGBAU

and SENET Member), Dr. NitinKoli, Prof. Dr. RavindraSarode

(SENET Member).

10. Dr. Manish Gawai (SENET Member, SGBAU) was presented a

January 2017. The inauguration function was held under the

chair of Dr. MurlidharChandekar, Vice-Chancellor, SantGadge

1. State Level Symposium on "डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरां या टीतून

स यि थतीतील मागासवगीर्य व अ पसंख्याकं समाजवगार् या

सम याचें आकलन व िनराकरण"was organized on 16th March

2016 at Audio Visual Theatre, SantGadge Baba Amravati

University, Amravati. Symposium was inaugurated at the hands

of B. D. Borkar. Pri. Dr. Ajay Deshmukh, Registrar, SGBAU,

Amravati was Special Guest. On this occasion Dr. Suresh

Waghmare (Latur), Prof. Dr. WamanGawai (Amravati), Prof.

Dr. M. R. Ingale (Akola), Pro. Dr. SatishDongare, Prof. Dr.

Rajiya Sultana (Amravati), Pro. Dr. SubhashGawai (Amravati)

were Presented their views on the given topic. The chaired of

the concluding Session was Dr. J. D. Wadate (Exam Controller,

SantGadge Baba Amravati University, Amrvati), Dr. B. R.

Waghamare (Director, YashvantraoChavhan Maharashtra Open

University), and Prof. G. R. Sonale, Aurangabad.

2. On 14th April 2016 a program was organized by the Dr.

Ambedkar Studies Center to celebrate the Birth-Anniversary of

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The Program was chaired by Dr. Vilas

Sapkal, (Acting Vice-Chancellor, SantGadge Baba Amravati

University, Amravati). Special Guest was Dr. Ajay Deshmukh,

(Registrar, SGBAU) and Dr. JayantWadate (Exam Controller,

SGBAU).

3. An Invited lecture of Dr. VedprakashMishri was organized by

the center in Dr. BabasahebAmbedkar Lecture Series in the

memory of Late. GovindaraojiKhobragade on 22nd February

2016. The inauguration function was held under the chair of Dr.

VilasjiSapkal, (Acting Vice-Chancellor, SantGadge Baba

Amravati University, Amravati) and Dr. B. G. Khobragade,

A State Level Symposium on "डॉ. बाबासाहेब आबेंडकरां या टीतून स यि थतीतील मागासवगीर्य व अ पसंख्यांक समाजवगार् या सम यांचे आकलन व िनराकरण"was organized on 16th March 2016 at Audio Visual Theatre, SantGadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. Symposium was inaugurated at the hands of B. D. Borkar. Pri. Dr. Ajay Deshmukh, Registrar, SGBAU, Amravati was Special Guest. On this occasion Dr. Suresh Waghmare (Latur), Prof. Dr. WamanGawai (Amravati), Prof. Dr. M. R. Ingale (Akola), Pro. Dr. SatishDongare, Prof. Dr. Rajiya Sultana (Amravati), Pro.
