Collie Agricultural Society Regulations

The regulations and by-laws of the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia shall

apply to this show except where otherwise stated. 1 Every exhibit, except livestock, must be grown by or be the work of the exhibitor unless

otherwise stated, and any exhibitor may be called upon to make an affidavit to that effect. All livestock must be the property of the exhibitor.

2 ENTRY FEES: All fees as published in this schedule must be prepaid and accompanied by the Society’s printed entry form or facsimile of the same, to the Society’s office by the date noted in each section. Exhibits not fully paid will be accepted for display only.

3 All entries are received subject to these show regulations and by-laws under the Royal Agricultural Society‘s Act, 1926, as amended.

4 The Committee may at any time disqualify from exhibiting, either indefinitely or for any period it may see fit, any exhibitor who has, in the opinion of The Committee, been guilty of any breach of these regulations or whose conduct whether at or during any show of The Society, has in the opinion of The Committee, been such that he or she is unfit to exhibit at any show of The Society.

5 No person who has been disqualified from exhibiting at any show of the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia Incorporated, or of any show of any society affiliated therewith, shall during the period of disqualification be allowed to act as an agent, representative or servant of any exhibitor at any show of The Society.

6 The judges may withhold prizes for any such exhibits they deem unworthy.

7 NO APPEAL AGAINST A DECISION OF THE JUDGES will be entertained unless made in writing before four (4) pm. on the day of the show and a deposit of $20.00 made which will be forfeited if The Committee considers same to be frivolous. Stewards are to be made aware of the fact at the time. All appeals to be heard and decided on the day of the show.

8 GROUND SPACE: All applications for ground space must be lodged 21 days before the date of the Show on special application forms from The Society. Electricity and ground site charges on application. LATE APPLICATIONS ARE CONSIDERED SUBJECT TO AVAILABLE SPACE AND DISCRETION OF THE GROUNDS COMMITTEE.

9 Any article considered offensive by any three (3) members of The Society’s Committee must be withdrawn from public display and sale.

10 Exhibits to be picked up by 12noon on the Sunday following the Show, or between 10am and 5pm on the Monday next ensuing, unless prior arrangement is made with The Society. Items not collected will be disposed of at The Society’s discretion.

11 Any person using obscene language or creating a nuisance may be ordered from the grounds.

12 All persons, other than financial members and those issued with a complimentary pass, must pay to enter the grounds during the show, whether and exhibitor or not.

13 PAYMENT OF PRIZE MONEY from 9am on Show Day. Prize money and trophies may be forwarded only on application. Prize monies not collected by 5pm on the Monday following Show Day will be forfeited to the Society, unless prior arrangements made with The Society.

14 Veterinary certificate must be shown for refund of entry where applicable (Equestrian Events).

EXHIBITION HALL REGULATIONS

1 Attention of exhibitors is drawn to The Collie Agricultural Society’s Regulations. 2 ENTRY FORMS may be entered from the 22nd of September each year, up to 7pm on the date noted on page 1. Entries not paid in full by this time/date will be accepted as “Display Only” and not eligible for judging. 3 All EXHIBITS with Society’s number attached, to be delivered to the Exhibition Hall by 7pm, on the Wednesday of Show Week. Exceptions are fresh produce, flowers

and cooking, which may be delivered between 8am and 10am on the Friday of Show Week. Judging at noon Friday 15th.

4 Exhibits may be removed from the Exhibition Hall from 10am to 12noon on the Sunday after Show Day. After this time they are not the responsibility of the Society.

EXHIBITORS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INTO THE EXHIBITION HALL UNACCOMPANIED TO COLLECT EXHIBITS. 5 All work must be that of the exhibitor. 6 The Exhibition Hall will be open from 9.00am to 8.00pm on Show Day. 7 No single item may be entered in any two (2) Section/Classes. 8 All prizes will be awarded at the Judge’s discretion. 9 Points will be awarded (unless otherwise stated) as follows: 2 points for 1st, 1 point for

2nd and, in the case where a 3rd prize is awarded, half a point for 3rd. In the case of a tie, the winner will be decided on the allocation of firsts and seconds. If a tie still ensues, the winner will be decided by a majority deliberative vote of the Society Executive and Pavilion Steward.

10 Any article having won a prize at a previous Collie Show is not eligible for entry. 11 All reasonable care will be taken of exhibits, but no responsibility will be accepted by

the Society. 12 Refer to individual sections for any specific information. 13 An exhibitor may offer any of his/her articles on display for sale, with 10% of the

proceeds going to the Society. The Society’s “For Sale” tickets are available from the Chief Steward, and are to be placed on any articles for sale, after judging. This must be arranged with the Chief Steward when the article is delivered to the Exhibition Hall.

2019 Collie Show Equestrian Events Notice for Entrants in all Equine Events

All competitors entering the Collie Show Agricultural Show grounds are required to pay at the gate, however, a member enters free. Member entry allows for one member in a vehicle towing a horse float. This access is available noon-7pm Friday 15th November 2019 and from 6am Saturday 16th

November 2019.

Judging commences 8am sharp. Classes will not be held up for any reason, the society/judges may change the order of judging at their discretion, please be ready for your class to run at any time.

Stallions and colts must be shown is suitable headgear. Handler and riders of stallions or colts must be 18 years of age or older on the day of the event (please be prepared to show proof of age on the day of the event). All stallions and colts, when not competing are to be safely restrained and supervised at all times. All stallions and colts must have a green disc displayed at all times.

All competitors and exhibitors must pay a gate entry fee to enter grounds. Protests – must be lodged within 10 minutes of the completion of the event, accompanied with

a $50 fee which will be refunded if the protest is upheld. Classes will be run under RAS rules and regulations. Current approved Australian standard helmets must be worn. Society’s Liability – all persons entered in the horse section do so at their own risk. Horse event participation declaration forms must be completed and handed into the hacking

desk located on the oval (hand at horse float). Please leave your float tie up area/yard as you found it. Manure bags available at entry.

Riders required to wear correct riding attire or Pony Club uniform when walking the course and during

competition. Age of entry is the riders age on the day. Proof of age must be available upon request. Current approved Australian standard helmets to be worn. Riders may compete in 2 consecutive heights plus Power & Speed. Prize money may be collected from the Collie Show Payout Window. AM7 is immediate jump off if you go clear in the first round. Collie Ag Society membership card. All horses must be registered with their respective breed societies (thoroughbred, standardbred

and unregistered horses/ponies are exempt). Partbreds are not permitted to enter Purebred classes, unless otherwise stated. Copies of certificates of registration and proof of membership of society must be sent with

entries. Horses and ponies that are dual registered may compete in all eligible classes, but remember

that classes will not be held up at any time. To be eligible for the open halter and ridden breed classes, horses/ponies must have competed

in their respective breed classes. Protests: must be lodged within 10 minutes of the completion of the event, accompanied by

$50 fee, which will be refunded if the protest is upheld. Ridden classes will be run under the Show Horse Council and EA Rules. Approved helmets to be worn in all ridden sections. Society’s liability: All persons entered in the horse section do so at their own risk. Please leave your float tie up/yard as you found it. Bags are available at the gate. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, alter or delete classes from the program if there are

less than 3 entries in a class. Please note: Any breed with less than 3 entries may have classes reduced at next year’s show. To book a yard contact 97345543. Stallions will be given preference. Please clean them out

when you leave. Horse event participation declaration forms MUST be completed and handed in on the day, at

the breeds desk located on the oval. Don’t forget to thank your sponsor if you are lucky enough to win a sponsored event. Without

them we would not have a show.

All persons entering the Showgrounds on Show Day will be required to pay a gate entry fee. Entries close 5pm Friday 8th November 2019. Numbers will be available on the day for those that don’t have their own. $10 refundable

deposit. Competitors are responsible to clean up all hay and manure before leaving the ground. All prize winners are encouraged to acknowledge sponsors. Champion and Reserve Champion Ribbons to Hack, Galloway and Hunter Hacks and Ponies. Height certificates must be produced on request. Proof of age must be given on request in all

rider events. SOCIETY LIABILITY: all persons entering in equestrian or other events do so at their own

risk and shall hold the Society blameless and indemnified against any legal proceedings from any accidents arising at the Collie Show.
