Downtown Itinerary- Arts & Entertainment
Grab a quick coffee and pastry to go at Le Panier or one of the other excellent cafes in Pike Place Market. Explore the main market stretch, filled with numerous local artists, artisans and street performers.
Spend the rest of the morning at the Seattle Art Museum where the iconic Hammering Man towers above. With more than 23,000 works in its collection, you can spend hours wandering the permanent collec-tion and traveling exhibits.
For lunch head to Pioneer Square to enjoy the best sandwiches in town at local shops like Rainshadow Meats, Tat’s Delicatessen, Salumi or Delicatus. Then head over to Occidental Avenue to explore a few of the 30+ galleries and walk through Occidental Square to see public sculptures and art installations.
Don’t miss this amazing and free museum on First Hill-- the Frye Art Museum. This impressive art collection is the legacy of Charles and Emma Frye, twentieth century Seattle business leaders and art collec-tors.
5 If you are up for a walk, make your way to Ltd Art Gallery. This gallery is free and open to the public and showcases modern, pop, surrealist, and low-brow art influenced by Pop Culture.
6 Experience Seattle’s nightlife! For a little entertainment, go to one of the premiere venues in town for live music like The Triple Door, The Para-mount, or the Moore Theatre. The Triple Door has an intimate lounge atmosphere and features local and touring acts playing jazz, rock, folk, and more. The Paramount and Moore Theatre are historic, beautiful the-atres that feature everything from musicals and concerts to live comedy and dance.
7 If you are a fan of the theater or looking for something unique, try the unconventional and hilarious improv comedy at the Market Theatre in Pike Place or catch the latest production at the historic 5th Avenue Theatre. Comedy Underground and 88 Keys in Pioneer Square or Keys on Main in Uptown also make for a fun night of entertainment.

Insider’s Tip: If you visit Pioneer Square on the first Thursday of the month, you are in for a treat! Discover emerging artists at First Thursday Art Walk in Occidental Park featuring drawing, sculpture, ceramics, mixed-media, painting, photography and traditional jewelry and crafts.
“The Paramount Theatre: The building has been around since 1928 and maintains its original French renaissance decor. Staying true to their roots they still have Silent Movie Monday’s spon-sored by Trader Joe’s. You can see a wide array of entertainment here: music, dance, comedy and Broadway shows. No matter where you sit you have a great view, and that important because I’m short!” - MID Downtown Ambassador Janet Traves
