[ The Process ]

As part of our process, we meet with new clients in order to get a clear and full understanding of who they are. What do they offer? What is the definition of their product? Is there a clear unique selling point? What are their strengths/weaknesses? What does the client feel their strengths/weaknesses are? What advertising process are they currently using? Have they collected data to track the effectiveness of that process? What budget structure do they have to work with? First, our primary goal is to simply collect data.

We then analyze their specific market needs and put together a plan in order to achieve our clients specific goals.

Establish what mediums (TV, mail, e-mail, web, radio... etc.) will be the most cost effective. There may be cases where market surveys, case studies, 3-D animation, professional copywriting or other specific services are needed. If Downs & Associates doesn’t do it in house, we have a network of business partnerships to make it happen. This strategy promotes higher cost effectiveness for clients and keeps our overhead low.

Review our recommendations with the client and agree on an advertising schedule.

We began over 20 years ago as an offset printing broker. As a matter of fact, the “Associates” part of Downs were the various printers that worked with us in those early days. Over the years, we have evolved into a much more diverse service center, but our roots still have a strong knowledge in the printing industry.

Traditional, web, silk screen, and digital printing are the venue for today’s market and we handle it all. We match the print project to the vendor(s) that are best equipped to produce it. Many considerations are made before awarding a bid to a vendor. How well matched the job is to the equipment, production time, customer service reliability andcost are all important to the deci-sion making process.

Everybody at the race track says their horse is the fastest, not true. Building a balanced, well-planned media strategy is key to the success of any ad campaign. We take into consideration your specific demographic and psychographics and run the numbers. You know before any money is spent who, what, when and how much. Not only do we build the flight schedules in the right media that makes sense for you, but we also can ensure that the points promised are realized. You should get what you pay for.

RYAN HOMES • LEGACY New product line, new target market... That calls for a

new look. Ryan homes was looking to tap into the discerning 55+ market with high end, one

story living. High end printing, premium papers, spot varnishes and upscale photography

were the ticket for these discriminating buyers. They liked it so much they asked us to design

a pocket folder, business cards and informals [with envelopes] to match.

RWS CUSTOM HOMES This local builder was looking for

a solid foundation when it came to presenting their homes. Boy are

we proud of this 48 page catalog. We took care of every aspect

of this project, from photos to print brokering. Then bucking the

trend, we chose a landscape layout to better feature the impressive

product. Downs and Associates made a completely custom catalog for a

165 CHROME The guys at I-65 Chrome Shop in

Remington Indiana asked us to revamp their identity and

bring them into the online community with their web presence.

Star ting simple, we created a new logo and business

identity. We have since worked through the processes of shooting

product photography & video, creating a new website with

simple client management, and developed a graphic standard

for all print and digital media.

7One of the in-house services we offer our clients is the ability to digitally print large format displays and banners up to 44 in. x 15 ft. The quality is photographic and the media is diverse. Prints can be mounted on various substrates such as foam core or ultra board. Epson ultrabright inks are used and can be used for either interior or exterior displays.

This is a favorite for our creative team. Many compa-nies need help creating dynamic presentations for sales or development meetings. Using still pictures, charts, video clips and sound bites, we can work with you to combine the elements into interactive CD ROMs, DVDs or Powerpoint presentations.

Lights. Camera. Action. Video and radio productions are an exciting part of any advertising portfolio. Finding the right talent and marrying it with the perfect creative is just part of the production process. Whether the production calls for a simple in-house TV spot or a full blown multi-day on location shoot, Downs will coordinate the professional teams to make it happen.

We helped them streamline by limiting the number of selling points that were effective for print. We developed a quick turnaround post card program & put the whole process online for them. Happy client... Problem solved.

SEOULFUL BODYWORK Big or small, we can develop a look and program for you. Seouful Bodywork had the skills, they just didn’t have a look to match. We went in and softened their color palette, developed a universal graphic standard and gave them a logo makeover. This small shop is ready for the big time.

In1910,AnneMariahKamererconveyedoneacreof landtothelocalschooldistrict.Aoneroomschoolhousewasbuiltonlylatertoaddanotherroom.ThetworoomschoolwasnamedtheKamererSchoolaftermyGreatGrandmother.

The building served the community until 1967when it was retired from all use. The building stoodvacant and suffered vandalism and disrepair until itwentupforsalebytheschooldistrictin1979whenitwasboughtbackbyWilliamandGilda(Kamerer)Downs.

In 1998, the restoration of the old KamererSchoolhouse began. Great pains were taken toreplicate and restore the school to its originalarchitectural design. The original bell has long agodisappearedsoareplacementbellwasdonatedbyBilland Gilda. Today the bell rests comfortably atop theschoolasatributetotheKamererlegacy.

WINDING CREEK We love a challenge. Winding Creek by Ryan Homes was one of those rare

opportunities to build on an existing base and make it our own. Ryan procured this community from

another regional builder. Confidence in the community was down locally and we were asked to come in

and evaluate the situation. After doing some local research, we found that the issue was the image that

the community was portraying. The homes were priced right, but the value of the area was not being

featured. Open spaces, beautiful setting and a connection with nature were big selling points. Adding

warm tones and spotlighting the open feel were an integral part of the success of this community.

From communities to corporations, we have seen our

share of logos in our offices. Each one having it’s own

set of challenges and particulars. We can help you

reimagine your identity, develop the look and have you

on your way. After all, perception is the reality, and who

doesn’t want to look their best?

SAINT VINCENT COLLEGE CENTER FOR NORTHERN APPALACHIAN STUDIES

Some of the most interesting work we have done has been courtesy of Saint Vincent College. These perfect bound,

hard back editions can be purchased at many local and national book stores. The best part is, we designed them from

cover to cover... Including the covers! Stay in school kids. Cool work like this doesn’t come across just anyone’s desk.

US DIVING • REGION III

Some clients are just plain fun to work for.

The only restriction for US Diving was we

needed to show the Capital Building in DC. No

problem. We gave them a graphic look that made

the small regional event a big splash. Programs,

tee shir ts, mugs and dive passes were the

springboard for this entertaining project.

CITIZENS TELECOM This local telephone/internet/cable carrier was seeking a look that

would put them in the same league as some of the big carriers. We advised them on how they could

separate themselves on a local level from their large national competitors. We gave them a solid

makeover and some catchy new phrases to target a more specific market. Bring on the big guys!

RYAN HOMES • LEGACY New product line, new target market... That calls for a

new look. Ryan homes was looking to tap into the discerning 55+ market with high end, one

story living. High end printing, premium papers, spot varnishes and upscale photography

were the ticket for these discriminating buyers. They liked it so much they asked us to design

a pocket folder, business cards and informals [with envelopes] to match.

RWS CUSTOM HOMES This local builder was looking for

a solid foundation when it came to presenting their homes. Boy are

we proud of this 48 page catalog. We took care of every aspect

of this project, from photos to print brokering. Then bucking the

trend, we chose a landscape layout to better feature the impressive

product. Downs and Associates made a completely custom catalog for a

165 CHROME The guys at I-65 Chrome Shop in

Remington Indiana asked us to revamp their identity and

bring them into the online community with their web presence.

Star ting simple, we created a new logo and business

identity. We have since worked through the processes of shooting

product photography & video, creating a new website with

simple client management, and developed a graphic standard

for all print and digital media.

The building served the community until 1967when it was retired from all use. The building stoodvacant and suffered vandalism and disrepair until itwentupforsalebytheschooldistrictin1979whenitwasboughtbackbyWilliamandGilda(Kamerer)Downs.

In 1998, the restoration of the old KamererSchoolhouse began. Great pains were taken toreplicate and restore the school to its originalarchitectural design. The original bell has long agodisappearedsoareplacementbellwasdonatedbyBilland Gilda. Today the bell rests comfortably atop theschoolasatributetotheKamererlegacy.

[ The Process ]

As part of our process, we meet with new clients in order to get a clear and full understanding of who they are. What do they offer? What is the definition of their product? Is there a clear unique selling point? What are their strengths/weaknesses? What does the client feel their strengths/weaknesses are? What advertising process are they currently using? Have they collected data to track the effectiveness of that process? What budget structure do they have to work with? First, our primary goal is to simply collect data.

We then analyze their specific market needs and put together a plan in order to achieve our clients specific goals.

Establish what mediums (TV, mail, e-mail, web, radio... etc.) will be the most cost effective. There may be cases where market surveys, case studies, 3-D animation, professional copywriting or other specific services are needed. If Downs & Associates doesn’t do it in house, we have a network of business partnerships to make it happen. This strategy promotes higher cost effectiveness for clients and keeps our overhead low.

Review our recommendations with the client and agree on an advertising schedule.

Establish timelines for completion.

Allocate funds appropriately for each medium and implement the marketing plan.
