Download  and  Unzip  the  Mplayer  Installer  folder.      

 Double  click  “Myplayer  OSX  Extended”  

 Click  “Open”  in  this  dialog  box.    

 Click  “Move  to  Applications  Folder”    

 Double  click  “Essential  Codecs  Package  Install.pkg    

 Click  “Continue”  till  you  are  prompted  for  a  password.  

 Your  password  should  be  the  same  as  your  name  right  above  the  password  field.    

 After  the  quick  installation  click  “Close”    

 Click  the  magnifying  glass  in  the  top  right  corner  of  your  screen.  Type  in  “mplayer  in  the  search  box  below.  Click  on  the  “Top  Hit,”  MPlayer  OSX  Extended.    

 

Once  the  application  is  loaded,  click  on  “Mplayer  OSX  Extended”  near  the  top  left  hand  corner  of  the  screen.    Then  click  on  the  “Preferences”  option  from  the  pull  down  menu,    

 This  screen  will  open.    Click  on  “MPlayer”  near  the  top  right  hand  corner  of  this  box.    

 At  this  screen  check  the  option  at  the  bottom  of  the  screen,  “Use  32bit  binary  on  64bit  computers  when  available  (required  for  binary  codecs)”.  

 Once  that  option  is  checked,  close  this  box.        

 Navigate  to  the  video  you  want  to  play.  Right  click  on  it  and  mouse  over  “Open  With”,  then  select  MPlayer  OSX  Extended.      

 Your  video  will  play.
