The Y.SMART series has been produced since 1989. When introduced, YXLON Copenhagen made a giant leap forward in portable X-ray technology.
YXLON Copenhagen made a shift from oil-filled tube heads with glass inserts, to gas-filled tube heads with metal ceramic X-ray tubes and constant potential technology.
The oil-filled tube heads from the sixties weighed 130 kg, compared to the much lighter gas-filled tube heads weighing about 30 kg.
The new technology made the Y.SMART series:
• Robust and compact
• Light-weight
• And allowed high X-ray performance

•X-ray systems with metal ceramic X-ray tubes are of higher quality than systems using glass or ceramic X-ray tubes. They better withstand the rough handling of field inspection.
•SMART EVO systems are specially designed to meet the demanding requirements of field inspections. For example, the robustly redesigned composite casing now protects all vital parts even better.
•SMART EVO is also tested in accordance with IP66 for the control unit, and IP65 for the tube head, in order to ensure the best possible protection from the environment.

The significantly lower weight, when compared to the Y.SMART series, ensures an optimized workflow.
The carefully designed features, such as the beam blocker, shoulder strap and laser indication of the X-ray beam, are also examples of new features which ensure a faster workflow.
The exposure calculator calculates the actual exposure time and eliminates the need for time-consuming trial-and-error shots.

The SMART EVO system is based on constant potential technology, which ensures the shortest possible exposure time.
The state-of-the-art cooling principles, not only allow a temperature range from -20˚C to +50˚C, but also provide one hour of exposures at full power in +35˚C ambient temperatures.
The power factor corrector (PFC) in the control unit, not only optimizes the current load of the mains grid, but also secures stable operation in unstable power conditions and covers a unified line voltage of between 85-264 VAC and 45-65 Hz.

METAL CERAMIC X-RAY TUBES
Portable X-ray systems with metal ceramic X-ray tubes are of higher quality than systems using ceramic or glass X-ray tubes. They better withstand the rough handling of field inspection.
The stainless steel housing has replaced the glass resulting in a much more robust and reliable tube. Modern production methods eliminate any spread in accuracy resulting in a uniformed output without variation in focal spot or X-ray beam.

The center laser will ensure precise alignment when positioning the SMART EVO tube head, and it speeds up the workflow, saving time and cost by ensuring precision.
The laser indicates the beam center off set by 25 mm, and the laser diodes are controlled by a push button located on top of the SMART EVO tube head, enabling easy operation.

The mA maximum is 4.5 mA for SMART EVO 300P and 6.0 mA for SMART EVO 200P, allowing maximum X-ray power at low kV, ensuring the shortest exposure time possible - setting a new standard for the industry.
SMART EVO 300P has undergone a significant weight reduction and weighs now only 36 kg, making handling and transportation easier.
Six lasers indicates the center of the X-ray beam, making the positioning and alignment of the tube heads easy and accurate.

The re-engineered three-part lead belt is easy to mount and has as standard a 38˚ x 60˚ slit option allowing for directional use if required.
Each section has an easy lock functionality supporting smooth and easy attachment and detachment. If 360˚ beam is not needed, each section can be mounted separately, making it possible to achieve 120˚ or 240˚ beam coverage.
RE-ENGINEERED LEAD BELT
The weight of the lead belt is significantly optimized at 10.8 kg for the 300 kV version. The reduced weight and division into three sections ensures easier handling.
A fourth section with a 40˚ x 60˚ cut out is also included, to allow for directional use, in order to add flexibility and additional value to the X-ray system.
