This booklet contains an assessment grid for each of the subjects undertaken in Year 9 at St
John’s.
Each grid outlines:
The number of Common Tasks
The term and week each common task is due
The topic and form of each common task
A range of learning experiences the class may undertake throughout the year.
Learning experiences are what students do in class each day. Common tasks are assessments
common to year groups in a subject and occur approximately once per term. Both learning
experiences and common tasks are used to determine grades for reports.
At the back of the booklet is an assessment calendar showing where each assessment is due
for the year. These can be used to highlight which subjects a student is undertaking and assist
with planning preparation time to ensure all tasks are completed to a high level.
