The RFS safeguards were developed bearing in mind:
• Participation by indigenous groups, local communities, forest
users in the development of the project
• Revenue streams/benefits will be distributed in accordance with
plans established by beneficiaries
• Rigorous participatory consultation requirements
• Transparent and enforceable benefit‐sharing plans
• Detailed informed, prior, written consent protocols
