APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY: A POSITIVE REVOLUTION IN CHANGEProfessor David CooperriderThe world’s foremost authority on strengths-based, positive change, internationally renowned for his research in appreciative
inquiry, Case Western Reserve University, USA
Do you want more workplace wellbeing? The best place to begin may not be by looking inside your company but by extending far outside of yourself –and the reason is captured in the concept of “mirror flourish-ing.” Building a better world “out there” is the most potent force on the planet – for generating, on the “in here” of every kind of organisation, the most engaged, empowered, and innovation-inspired enterprise that any leader could want.
The urgent global agenda for change as represented by the Paris agree-ment, as large and daunting as it seems, is truly an invitation to work-place wellbeing’s finest hour. Be galvanised and motivated as David Cooperrider encapsulates the opportunity we now have to create the perfect union of micro approaches to workplace wellbeing and macro approaches to global wellbeing, whereby each will become more effec-tive and realise a new level of excellence.
Using data from over 2,000 appreciative inquiry interviews with path-breaking positive institutions in a study of “business as an agent of world benefit, David employs a myriad of rich and powerful stories to illustrate that working to solve humanity’s greatest social and environ-mental challenges brings out the best in us and our institutions.
