Fraternal Order of Eagles
Willamette Aerie & Auxiliary No . 2081
The Eagle Beak Salem, Oregon
Published monthly
March 2019
Worthy President We had a busy month and it will get busier as we head
towards spring. We unfortunately lost our Chaplin and
two of our Trustees. They held many important positions
and their presence will be greatly missed. I especially
want to thank Janice Collee for her time she spent as
Trustee. She did so much work behind the scene that
most members don’t realize. Losing her as a Trustee is a
great loss. We have a special meeting on Tuesday March
12 that will discuss the possible sale of our building and
the officers/vacancies in the Aerie. I hope to see you at
that meeting to get your input. Brent Collee, Worthy President
Madam Vice President The goal of each member of a Fraternal Order of Ea-
gles Aerie home is to support what we voluntarily
joined. It’s up to us. No one will be coming to help
pay the bills and keep the lights on.
Several Aerie and Auxiliary member volunteers col-
lect the cover charges on dance nights to help offset
the cost of hiring the dance bands. This might seem
like a nominal fee but it makes a big difference in the
quality of entertainment we get to enjoy.
There are volunteers who help out as bartenders and
wait staff, who always lend a hand with a
smile. These people who are giving or their time are
appreciated far beyond expressing.
The rest of us can also help by coming to our Aerie
home and buy the dinners and beverages at the bar
and pay the cover charge for the dances. Participation
is also important.

Worthy Vice President
Brothers and Sisters, The ground hog saw its shadow and said six more weeks of winter, Except you Oregon, weather does it own thing. I wish to thank everybody that worked so hard to make Mafia Night That made it such great success. Brent, Janice, and all of her crew, Frank and Linda, Olivia, Pam in the kitchen. There is just too many To mention. We had about 250 people. I just wish we had more of our Aerie and Auxiliary members there. We need more members to come and support the Eagles. It’s members that come have a drink, have sandwich, Have dinner, listen and dance to the great bands that we have. Dues alone cannot support the Aerie. Jack LaBox, Worthy Vice President

Worthy President We hosted the Northwest District Meeting on Sep-
tember 21 to September 23. It was a great success and I
received numerous compliments on the food and decora-
tions. We had a large number of volunteers that put in
quite a few hours to make it successful. I am very grate-
ful to the key volunteers that spend hours decorating,
preparing food, and registering fellow Eagles as they
travelled from Aeries all over the state. Without volun-
teers we would not be able to host events like this. The
Queen of Hearts was once again won by Ron Keuscher.
We have started game 5 now and we are as always hav-
ing our drawing on Sunday evening at 7:30 Tickets are
available any time from the bartender or a member of
the Queen of Hearts Committee. We have some fun
events for October to include wine tasting and a Hallow-
een party. Come out and enjoy an event or two.
Thank you,
