To install wordpress, make sure your hosting has one-click software installer
eg
uk.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting
charges £3 + VAT per month increasing to £5 per month
Your host will give you login info for your control panel eg cpanel
You should find a wordpress installer icon
Fill in the formDelete “wp” in the “in directory” box
Click install button
That is it.
• Wait a bit, and/or clear your cache, and your new wordpress site will appear.
• Any problems, phone your host tech support
Login to admin area of your new wordpresssite• Eg http://broxbournebuddhistgroup.co.uk/wp-login.php
Can add a new free themeclick appearance/themes/add
I use Divi theme by elegantthemes.com

But a free theme is fine
• Including the default “twenty seventeen”
Menu is on left of admin area
Posts (transient) versus Pages (permanent)
Click “posts” and can see all your posts
Click posts/add new to add a post
Click media, to see uploaded pictures and pdfs
Click pages, and can add pages
Appearance
Can choose one from thousands of free or cheap themes
Can add and edit widgets in the sidebar
You can add plugins
You can add new users with fewer permissions
You can add new users and choose what role they have (ie ability to do different things)
