What do you have to do during the arrival days?

STEP 1) Collect your keys (if you arranged your accommodation via VU Amsterdam)

STEP 2) Register with the municipality in order to receive a personal public service number (BSN). You will need the BSN to open a bank account, to work, to make use of health care, and to apply to benefits or allowance in the Netherlands. Please note that you can register with the municipality only if you arranged accommodation via VU Amsterdam or if you already have an address in Amsterdam or Amstelveen. STEP 3) Arrange all practical matters regarding your registration at VU Amsterdam, meet you International Student advisor, open a bank account etc. Depending on the Arrival Day of your choice, you can follow the 3 steps. Please note that if you arranged your accommodation via VU Amsterdam you need to arrive on Friday August the 19th or on Monday August the 22nd to collect your keys. If you did not arrange accommodation via VU Amsterdam you can arrive on Monday the 22nd of August and arrange all practical matters on the 22nd or 23rd of August. Follow the scheme:
