TERM 4
WEEK 8
Greetings.
The end of the 2017 school year is al-
most here. This term has been quite
busy, yet there is more to come.
It has been wonderful seeing our
students in uniform everyday. A big
thankyou to family for helping your
children with this. Today, a visitor who has not been in
Woorabinda for a few years, commented about how strong
and proud our students are. She particularly noticed how
smart everyone looked in the school uniform.
Congratulations Woorabinda State School!
Please remind students that bullying is not tolerated in
Woorabinda State School. Strong and smart Woorabinda
people treat each other kindly in words and actions.
Have a great last two weeks.
Cheers

Term 4
Year 4/5 Class Hello Parents & Guardians,
During this term, the 4/5 students have been working on
creating a storyboard for English and have now moved onto
learning about the genre of historical recounts in
literature. The 4/5 students have been focussing on
shapes, time and money in Mathematics and have started
to create Christmas Art for the classroom.
We are hoping to see many of you at Night School on
Tuesday 5th December.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New
Year.
See you all in 2018.
Kind regards,
Chloe Sutton.

Focus on Year 3
Hi to parents, grandparents and carers,
This term has been an explosion of learning for both the Year 3
students and myself! In class, we have been focusing on cooperative
learning and being responsible for our own behaviour. Most students
have been joining in Fun Friday activities each week, which is
awesome to see!
In English, we have been examining Australian poetry. We have been
looking closely at how poets use different language features and
devices to create imagery and change the mood of poems. For their
assessment, students adapted a familiar poem in order to create and
present their own poem. I am very proud of the students’ efforts!
In Mathematics, we have been exploring money. We have been
learning to count collections of coins and notes and looking at
strategies for counting
out change for simple
transactions.
We only have a few weeks
left so please encourage
your child to come to
school every day and give
their best effort. I would
love to see you all at
Night School in Week 10
– the students and I are
very proud of their
achievements this term!
Best wishes,
Miss Mac (Georgia)
