God has placed us in a season of blessing in many ways. We are seeing more guests
on Sunday. God is adding to the church family every week. The spirit of our people is
good. Unity is excellent. Wednesday evening children’s and youth ministries are ex-
ploding. I bring this to your attention because it’s very easy to take these seasons for
granted. Won’t you join me in giving God thanks and praise? And will you join me in
continuing to pray for God’s hand upon us. Apart from the Lord, we can do nothing.
And speaking of blessing, we have exceeded our Dixie Jackson State Mission Offering goal!
Through your faithful generosity born out of a heart for missions, we gave $20,513 against a $20,000
goal. As you know, these are dollars that will become ministry to those in need and in prison. These
are dollars that will help plant new churches and support the pastors planting them. These are dollars
that will reach people for Christ. Thanks for storing up yet more of your treasure in heaven where it
lasts forever. Thanks to Ken Wheatley and Beverly Gingrich and Stephen Evans for your help in
promoting this offering.
We’re up to our necks in the planning for the 2014 Church Budget. We’d appreciate your prayers
for the process. God is blessing us. While we haven’t given budget in 2013, we are ahead in receipt
to expenditures. And we’re close to giving budget and may well make it. Thanks for your faithful
giving. We try to be good stewards of your gifts. Pray that the 2014 Church Budget will reflect our
faithfulness to God’s priorities for the church.
Is That Really in the Bible? As we continue our series, we’ll ask that question this Sunday of the
common phrase “love the sinner, hate the sin.” Let’s unpack that phrase and test it’s biblical sup-
port. See you Sunday.
Your Pastor,
John
