Hello fellow parishioners!
I would like to take

call to religious life.
I have taken the
next step in my

you would like to learn more about the Seraphic Adorers
of the Child Jesus you can visit our small website at

Rejoice Sunday!
Dear Loving parishioners,
Love and Peace of Christ!
Third Sunday of advent is
called Gaudete Sunday
because today’s Mass begins with the opening
antiphon: “Gaudete in Domino semper,” i.e., “Rejoice in
the Lord always.” So, to express our joy in the coming
of Jesus as our Savior into our hearts and lives, we
light the rose candle in the Advent wreath, and the
priest may wear rose vestments.
The prophet Isaiah, in the first reading, encourages the
exiled Jews in Babylon to rejoice because their God is
going to liberate them from slavery and lead them
safely to their homeland. James the Apostle also
encourages the early Christians to rejoice and wait with
patience for the imminent second coming of Jesus.
Finally, Jesus encourages John the Baptist in prison to
rejoice by casting away his wrong expectations about
the Messiah and simply accepting Jesus’ healing and
preaching ministry as the fulfillment of the Messianic
prophecy of Isaiah.
Life messages: “Go and tell others what you hear and
see.” We rejoice at the thought that Jesus is going to
be reborn in our lives, deepening in us his gifts of love,
mercy, forgiveness and the spirit of humble and
sacrificial service during this Christmas season. Hence,
let us joyfully share God’s bountiful grace, forgiveness,
and mercy with others. What Jesus commanded
John’s disciples, he commands us as well: Go and tell
others what you hear and see. This means that we
have to share with others our experience of JOY due to
the rebirth of Jesus within us.
May God Bless you,
—Fr. Peter
THIS SUNDAY!
In addition to our normally scheduled opportunities to
receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (listed on the
front of the bulletin), There will be priests available to
hear confessions on Sunday, December 15th at
3pm at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel-Fancher.

Stop by the Scrip Card table to see how you can use scrip
to pay for your purchases that day, and for your other
upcoming Christmas gift needs. We have three gift card
options available: those cards we carry weekly--available
on a first-come basis; many pre-order options that take one
week to get in; and special gift card orders that take two
weeks to get in and have to be paid for in advance. Stop by
to see what we have and help the church earn money back
from your gift card purchases!

Christmas is coming quickly!
We need your help on December 22nd
following the10:00am Mass to prepare our
church for Christmas. We welcome both
seasoned veterans with years of
experience, and first-timers with new
ideas. Decorating the church, gathering
area and pastoral hallway does not take
long and is a joyful fellowship time for all
involved. Please consider joining us to
help with decorations this year!
%!&#
We will be placing our next order very soon for
subscriptions starting in March of 2020. The cost is $30
payable to St. Max’s. If you are interested, contact the
parish office at 715-824-3380. Don’t Delay!!

Thank you all for participating and casting your votes!
The voting was extremely close! One of the candidates
emerged with the most votes while the others ended up
in two, two-way ties. For this reason, the top three were
elected and Father Peter appointed the remaining two
candidates (who tied) to serve on the council. We so
appreciate all of these wonderful individuals stepping
up to serve St. Max’s. We are so excited to have them!
