Set next to Boston’s historic South Station, this projectincluded master-planning and urban design focused
on supporting a new walkable public realm.
Located on a site next to Oklahoma State University’scampus, this museum was designed to revitalize the university’s excitement and enthusiasm for the arts.
This project, set on the Oklahoma State Universitycampus, required existing 1970’s apartments to berenovated into a sustainable eco-village for students to enjoy.
A pavilion designed to change locally and globally ,adjusting to any environment in which it is placed.
Located in a large modern row-house development in the heartof Amsterdam, this project sets itself apart with it’s uniquedesign, which captures and distributes lig ht with a glass element.

B o s t o n U r b a n R e d e v e l o p m e n tThe Boston Urban Redevelopment team was comprised of six, fifth year architecture
students. The first task given was the master planning of the southeast corner of downtown Boston (in between Chinatown and the Fort Point areas). The site included the historic
South Station, a subway station, and the Fort Point Canal. Through the master planning, our team focused on walkability and creating a new public realm in Boston. The goal for
the new master plan was to bring the Boston Greenway, a green belt running through downtown above a buried highway, into our site while focusing on a mix of uses which
would activate the new development. The Master plan included burying the existing highway and rail infrastructure, placing the pedestrian’s importance above that of cars. The final plan also included a proposal for a new aquatic facility and athlete housing for
Boston’s Olympic 2024 bid.

S o u t h S t a t i o n P l a z aFollowing the master planning,
the area around the historic South Station Building was chosen as a focus area of the site to develop further. A large element of this area’s design was a plaza that created a public space which
connected downtown Boston back to the canal. Trent Weatherford and Hana Avey collaborated to
design the plaza. They combined a linear scheme of paving,
grass, trees, and water elements with an amphitheater and large projection screen viewing area.
The edge of the plaza up against the canal was abstracted, blurring
the line where the water starts and the plaza ends. The plaza
also included a geometric linear head house that served the trains
buried beneath.

N e w S o u t h S t a t i o n H e a d H o u s eThe design for the focus space of the project called for a new head house serving the
regional trains coming into the South Station area. Since the master plan required burying the train tracks underneath the development, a new head house was needed to
transition passengers down to the submerged terminal. Trent Weatherford and Hana Avey collaborated in the new sleek design. The long linear form of the head house frames the greenway running through the site. Visitors are able to enter at the east and west sides,
and center of the new head house. The design includes a diving frosted glass form, which reveals the lacy structure behind. The head house design also has a transition space to the
greenway, covered by a large angular glass canopy which is suspended by a mast.

O k l a h o m a S t a t e M u s e u m o f A r t D e v e l o p m e n tThe Oklahoma State University Museum of Art was designed to both revitalize the
surrounding area and give new life to OSU’s art scene. The form of the museum was designed to be both exciting and inspiring, providing a new icon for the campus. The
museum houses a permanent and temporary gallery, as well as cafe, store, and a lecture hall. Placing the buildings up against the street bordering campus gives a urban edge to
help revitalize and urbanize the area. The design of the building highlights movement, with a unique metal clad form which opens and ungulates around the vertical circulation, giving spectacular views out to campus and the surrounding area. The museum has both a front and rear entry, making it usable and appealing from both sides of approach. The galleries in the museum are laid out in such a way to give the visitor an experience of rising to the top of the building, and encountering the structure’s fragmented geometry as they make
their way down.
