Only 4 Days Remain!
In Memory The club wishes to express its sorrow to Selva Sunderavel, his wife Quincy and his family over the passing of his mother this past week.
Visit the Lucky 7 Fishing web site: www.lucky7fishing.net!
Pictured clockwise from upper left, are scholarship recipients Larissa Bell, CHS, Brittany Kane, PCHS, Brooke Kennedy, CHS and DeLayna Sterling, PCHS. These students and their parents will be our guests at our Installation Banquet on June 13, at which time they will receive their scholarship checks. Congratulations to Scholarship Chairman Wayne Sallade and the members of the com-mittee for their efforts in selecting these out-standing students.
Just a few days remain before the tourna-ment—make plans to attend and help at the Captain’s Meeting Friday evening, and to be at Fishermen’s Village on Saturday to help with the weigh-in of the fish.

Do your part to make the Lucky 7 Fishing Tournament a success!
Happy belated Cinco de Mayo, the bulletin editor has tooo much authority
By Guest Editor Steve Vollmer
Attending a Grouper Therapy session with Tom Fisher, Ponce helps plan
last-minute strategy for this week-end’s Lucky 7 Fishing tourney.
Ponce Upon my arrival your guest editor was greeted by Chris Gover’s smiling face pro-claiming several truth stretches. First, if I were to be the guest editor for “Selva”, that I wouldn’t have to perform the func-tion again for awhile. Yes that is correct, since begin-
ning July 1 I’ll get to lead this “band of ruffi-ans” we call a Rotary club and as such I don’t have the responsibility to be the guest editor during my year at the helm. Then Chris pointed out that I was listed in the bulletin as the guest editor. That wasn’t the total truth, since if you look at last week’s bulletin, as I did, it lists Selva and not me as the bulletin editor, the bulletin editor changed the listing, of course without consulting . Before I could get settled, Regina was “Greeting” everyone without the “Greeters Badge”, Bob McDuffie entered “early” with Gene Gesner, followed closely by Wayne and Mike. President Jim then whacked the bell and with Bob and Gene in attendance, Wayne thought he was off the hook for the invocation, but Jim called upon him anyway. Bob McDuffie lead us in the pledge and Don Roll got our singing voices going. After a quick breakfast, Jim tried to whack the bell again and missed, then got it on the second try. Mike Colgan announced that we had only one visiting Rotarian and no guests.
That Rotarian was of course Don Voigt, who
sang his own version of “We’re Glad You’re Here”. Birthday $’s were submitted for Car-lene Roll, Patty, Catherine and Amanda, Juan Pablo, Ezekiel James, and Greg. Then came many, many happy $’s including a won-derful contribution of $100 by Don Voigt for the fishing tournament. Mike Moody and Steve Carter have an ongoing bet between the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls. Wayne announced that 4 girls will be awarded our college scholarships, he didn’t say if any were going to attend Florida or Florida State. Our greeter, Regina, had been so em-bolden to blame me primarily and Bob Wil-son and Bob Clendenin secondarily for being fined by the Sergeant at Arms for noise at our table last week, that she sat away from me and the two Bob’s. However her table, with Wayne and Don Voigt, was fined for exces-sive noise this week. It must not have been us guys creating the disturbance last week. We talked a little about the District Con-ference, but then President Jim and Tom Fisher talked about the fishing tournament until 8:10 am when we adjourned.
THE 4-WAY TEST Of things we think, say or do First, Is it the TRUTH? Second, Is it FAIR to all concerned? Third, Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Fourth, Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

S4TL Coming Soon
The Seminar for Tomorrow’s Leaders(S4TL), a youth leadership project sponsored by Rotary Districts 6890, 6950 and 6960, will again be held at Florida Southern Col-lege from June 17 through June 23. Our club will again be sponsoring two delegates, one from Charlotte High and one from Port Char-lotte High. A highlight of this seminar is the Rap Sessions, where the students and visiting Ro-tarians get together and discuss a variety of subjects of the student’s choosing. Our club is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20. We can carpool up there and arrive by 10:30 am, and will be able to head home about 3:30 pm—it’s a full day, but well worth the time and effort.
Rotary In Pictures
Above, Don Voigt pays for the entire table, as they lost playing “The Rotary Game.” Below, President Jim, Mike, Chris and Tom pose with one of the new Leader Boards that they made last Wednesday evening. Bonnie and Dave Powell also contributed to this project.
We received both the Governor’s Award and the Presidential Cita-tion at the District Conference!
