![Page 7: The American Board of Anesthesiology](https://reader033.vdocuments.site/reader033/viewer/2022051801/628183076d61a23f636a9762/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
• We decided to virtually assess all 2021 candidates to ensure candidates whose 2020 exams were cancelled and those who registered for 2021 exams can complete certification without delay
• Candidates who were displaced by the cancellation of last year’s APPLIED Exam will be assessed during the first half of 2021
![Page 8: The American Board of Anesthesiology](https://reader033.vdocuments.site/reader033/viewer/2022051801/628183076d61a23f636a9762/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
• If you pass the APPLIED Exam before Dec. 31, 2021, and are certified in anesthesiology, we'll report your subspecialty exam results to you and if you pass you will also become certified in the subspecialty.
• If you do not pass the APPLIED Exam before Dec. 31, 2021, you will have an opportunity to take the APPLIED Exam again in 2022. We’ll report your subspecialty exam results to you when you become certified in anesthesiology.
• If you do not pass the APPLIED Exam before Dec. 31, 2022, your subspecialty exam results will be invalidated. You will then be required to be certified in anesthesiology to be eligible to register to retake the subspecialty exam.
