7 – Drive stand traffic Competitions are still an absolute «must» when it comes to exhibiting at a trade show, as they give traffic a major boost (driving up stand traffic by an average of 40%). What’s more, the entry forms filled out by participants are an excellent way of building up your database of qualified contacts.Just make sure that the questionnaire or game the players will have to complete provides you with pertinent information and that it is the type of information participants will be happy to relinquish.

9 – Make your stand feel like home Trade shows are increasingly becoming a place where visitors go to review their market’s sup-pliers and meet new firms (i.e. your competitors !). What will set your firm apart from others is the relationship forged during your discussions and the information shared within that short window of time.
You are confident in your expertise, so it is vital you optimise your reception area.
• Create a warm and friendly environment with settees, armchairs, coffee tables, plants etc. to encourage your visitors to come in and sit down rather than lingering in the aisle in front of your desk. You wouldn’t keep guests standing on your doorstep, after all!• Offer drinks + food to keep the atmosphere relaxed and make discussions easier for your team. A relaxed visitor who feels totally comfortable is more likely to chat about his problems and needs.
