The Senate of the Uni ve r sity, on 1st October, 1959, approved of your ap~ointment as Acting Professor of Geology and Mineralogy until the permanent appointee takes up duty . While acting in this capacity, you will be paid an allowance at the rate of £300 per annum .

Dr . A. F . Wilson has accepted the Senate ' s offer of appointment to the Chair and it is expected that he wil l be available to coI:l.!lence duty here as from 1st February, 1960. ·
