A Granny Drake can, as a standard action,
exhale a dense, greenish cone of gas. This
attack has a range of 40 feet creating a cone
20 feet wide and causes confusion among
targets who breathe it in (DC 18 Reflex halfduration).
The confusion caused by this breath weapon
lasts 4 rounds. Targets affected by the
Confusing Miasma must roll on the below
table to determine their actions.
d% Behavior
01-25 Act normally but suffer -2 strike.
26-50 Sit down and drop anything they may
be holding.
51-75 Deal 1d6 + Str modifier to self.

your own familiar).

heritage for a boost of strength and speed to
take an additional move action in that round.
Forest Sense (Ex)
A Granny Drake can see perfectly well in
dense forest conditions, utilizing a
combination of keen eyesight andecholocation, and does not take any penalties
on Perception checks while in deep woods or
forest.
Elder Care (Ex)
A Granny Drake can choose to impart a small
portion of their life essence to another
intelligent being. They are attracted almost
exclusively to kindly, elderly women, with
who they will share this ability. If they so
choose, they can permanently lose 2 HP and
form a bond with an elderly woman (one over
the age of 60).
Once this bond is formed, the elderly
womans life span is extended by 1d6 X 10
years beyond her normal span. She heals at
twice the normal rate.
The two are also psychically bonded. They
can, at any distance, share basic emotions.
Fear, joy, hunger, curiosity and anger. Only
one bond may be formed at any time.
ECOLOGY
Environment woods, forest
Organization solitary
Treasure standard
Every village seems to have one the village
Granny. The old woman who has lived
forever in a tidy, but small hut out by the
outskirts of the village. She never hurts
anyone and always has a kind word for
people. She owns a good pair of sturdy bootshas a great sense of family dedication and
loves to cook. She often has several
generations of offspring and seems
unnaturally long lived and energetic.
Shes also a bit off, often wandering in to the
creature infested woods at odd hours of the
night. Inevitably she returns several hours
later none the worse for wear, occasionally
with a bugbear cub in tow and saying things
like Isnt he just a darling?
There is a reason these elderly ladies can
traipse through monster infested, deep
woods without receiving anything worse thana twig in the hair. They have been literally
taken under the wing of a Granny Drake.
Granny Drakes are thought to be the lesser
offspring of Green Dragons, although this has
never been confirmed. Most of those in a
position to question them are generally more
concerned with their great, great
grandchildren and the general state of the
outhouse.
Granny Drakes are extremely solitary
members of the Dragon family. More
intelligent than other drakes, and thought to
be an older breed, they do not enjoy
associated with each other except on the rare
occasions when they breed.
Granny Drake lore holds that at some time in
the distant past, a Granny Drake met an
elderly woman who was lost in the woods.
They struck up a conversation, and the
woman being tired and unable to see in thedark, agreed to keep the drake company for
the night.
In exchange the drake led her back to her
village the next morning, hungry and cold but
unharmed.
The two struck up a friendship after that
event, which eventually led to the Drake
sharing its life force with the woman.
Forever afterwards, Granny Drakes have beenendowed with the natural ability to form a
psychic bond with elderly women. The
Granny Drakes impart a bit of themselves to
lengthen their companions lives and improve
their health. In return, they gain decades of
unwavering companionship, conversation
and a near endless supply of fresh baked
goods.
