high adventure was a sourceof pride and self respect.Scouting boosted my esteemand confidence in the ability to handle any problem.
Before my father passedaway, we had a chance torecognise his contribution to
Scouting. He served in many posts of leadership anddevelopment, including theWood badge. He was also aJamboree Program Directorthrice.
As I grew older, I realisedthat each person can make adifference. Having worked inKibera the past sixsummers, I have seen allthings I learnt in Scoutingbearing fruit.
It brings me great joy to be asmall part of the Jamboreewitnessing troops camped atRowallan. This is a site I willnot forget it soon.
As an Eagle Scout, Ichallenge you to set goalsand work hard to attainthem.

Different sub-camps have settledin and many activities are going on
at the Jamboree venue at RowallanCamp. Scouts are showing skills, talentsand culture. Swimming, hiking, chess,ludo, scrabble, touring and much more ishappening. Music is playing loud andScouts are dancing ‘ paka chini’. Thequestion is, are you involved? Do not beleft out. Find some activity, mingle andhave fun as you celebrate a Century of Scouting.

security at the Jamboree.
Diplomats: Polish Ambassador toKenya Mr. Wojciech Jasinski and his wifeat the Nairobi Centenary Jamboree.
Mr. Jasinski said he has been a Scoutsince childhood. “Scouting can shapelives of young people. Young people if given the right training in Scouting canbecome whatever they want to be inlife.”
So Scouts, reflect on what you want tobecome and use the your Scoutingexperience and values to be what youwant to be. Bravo on the 100 yearsof Scouting!

Scouting produces goodleaders. One of them is the
Permanent Secretary Ministry of YouthAffairs, Mr. Kinuthia Murugu. He joined Scouting as a Sungura. He roseto the level of Regional Director forAfrica, at the Scouts Regional Office.He was then appointed as PermanentSecretary because of his experience inworking with young people. “I owe my current position to Scouting. Scouting
promoted my leadership skills. Youngpeople should join Scouting. Scoutingdoes not ask a lot, but to do your best.It is only you and God to know thatyou are doing your best.That is the most important. Scouts,you are the agents of your ownchange. Use your Scouting experiencefor your own change. Have fun, makefriends and leave a better person thanyou came.
